Phillip Tetlock is not the liberal 'tard Steyn makes him out to be. He did some impressive work on the lack of racism among Republicans. He is actually not treated very well by the average leftist social psychologist. Jonathan Haidt is somewhat left-wing, but he does really good work, including demonstrating that Republicans have more moral "senses" than Democrats.

Finally, you can be smart but have bad priniciples. Obama got good grades at Harvard at least. He's not dumb. Neither was Bush.
