I don't think some people understand how 'penny' slots work. What it means is that 1 line with a 1 credit bet is a penny. But you won't win jack doing that, so you have to play the max lines (at least) to make it worth it. You end up spending 20-30-40 cents a spin paying for all the lines with 1 penny bet on each line. Then you have max bets that could be anywhere from $1.50 a spin to $5.00+ a spin.

If there is a sign posted on the slot machine in plain site that the maxximum win is $250;000 dollars on the penny slots that is the end of the argument. That sign is there in case there is a glitch and probably happended in the past. The woman should get $250,000 (which is nothing to sneeze at) and that is it.

Unfortunately, when you're playing random slots on a casino's home turf, the casino can pretty much do whatever they want. People in the comments section are screaming for her to sue them for 42 million... but what's going to back her claim up? There's no fiscal evidence that she won the 42 million; it's simply her word against the casino's. Probably not that easy to sue the casino at all, unless there happened to be many unbiased witnesses nearby.
