Saw them on the original "Heaven and Hell" tour.....Awesome !!! Dio is what ? 137 years old ?!?!?! I first saw him with "Elf" open for Deep Purple in '73........(oops! now I'm dating myself !:P) He's STILL belting it out !! Peace:-)
Saw RJD as the lead for Elf in '73, opening for JGeils, with Purple as the headliner. My buds and I were BLOWN away by Dio---his voice, stage presence, etc. Let me tell you: He was ALL that and a bag of nuts, even then. We KNEW we were witness to a legend-to-be before he hit it big. That was really cool. Also saw The Police the week that their first album was released, in a little bar in Ft. Lauderdale. It's nice to be "ahead of the curve", at least on a couple of things ! :=) Peace !
Very nice! Much closer and with far better sound quality (no distortion) compared to my filming of the same song at Wembley Arena in London (see my channel).
I was right next to the guy who screamed "DIE!" when Alice Cooper hung himself. It was great. I was freezing.. I should have bought a $200 jacket, lol.
Great video mate, bet it was a great gig. Can you (or anyone) answer a question for me please?
Did they start with "Mob Rules"? I love that song, and wondered if they started with it. I'm going to see them in November when they come to the UK and can't wait!!!
I'd rather hear Mob Rules first than After all the dead anyday!
Yes, they started with Mob Rules although they have started other shows in the tour with "After All/The Dead". I was at this particular show and the band was phenomenal...especially Dio. What a voice the man has! He never lets his fans down.
