@NGUpremier I can guarantee you that if you're willing to spend $2500 for a quadcore Xeon with 3 gigs of RAM with a mediocre graphics board and sound card, you don't have to look for Apple to get the best support. Hell, you might even be able to get a sexy woman in a bikini fixing any issues you have for you personally while getting that same hardware if you wish.
"10 times as many apps as any other environment" is a bit of a poor argument. Mac's usually have one app for each thing you need to accomplish, whereas windows has thousands that do exactly the same (some rather badly). Same with Unix and Linux - the best apps tend to get the time invested on them because it's a community driven approach. MS is money driven so you end up with competition for the sake of it.

They had to create a kernel called Mach3 (consider a kernel as something that relates hardware and software) derived from UNIX and should be better than NT kernels (used buy Microsoft), so Apple must invest more cash on development of this kernel in order to develop a better operating system,making MacOSX run faster than Windows7 even on the same hardware level, but I a agree with you not all of the cash we pay is for development some of it goes just for the logo

I have to say I'm a fan of both os. I own both PC and MAC I love both! I do have to say when I buy a "Laptop" I buy Macbook Pro why? Well the Macbook Pro is engineered to last vs the cheap plastic laptops that you can get and tend to have to be replaced every 1-2yrs were I get about 5yrs with the Macbook also I never had to reformat it. Games/Programming Windows 7 is king. Learn to love both for what they are and get over the Mine is Better than Yours thing...come on kids...
Windows is always more vulnerable to malware compared to Mac and Linux because more people use Windows. There's no point in creating a virus when it wouldn't damage many computers.
As an average computer user, I find Windows more practical. The cheapest Macbook in my country is around Php. 50 000. I can buy a Windows laptop that runs on Intel i5, 4 GB RAM, Dolby Surround Sound, 3D graphics and still probably have enough money for a Nokia C6

just save some money and buy an imac or built a hackcintosh.Macs are soo much better than windows.For e.x i open 64 programs(with photoshop,after effects and some others from adobe) on my mac at the same time and it didnt even lag for 0,1 sec.Then i tried the same with windows on the same machine and i had to force shutdown it=====>both machines 3,2 ghz intel core i3 4gb ram and 1 tb harddrive=imac 27 inch (using bootcamp i installed win 7).

Windows 7 is pretty much like Mac OS X! They copied the dock (in a way) and the windows explorer is practicly the same as Macs Finder. I am swithching to mac cause windows is crap. Windows 7 is what i run but it gives me problems. EVERY WINDOWS OS GIVES PROBLEMS.

Nope, the reason Windows has more viruses is because Windows holds 91% of the operating system market share, Mac and Linux share the other 9%, Now if you were any good at math, you would see virus creators target viruses for Windows as they would hit a much much larger userbase than if they wrote one for Mac or Linux.

@Alex148710 just depends on what machine you buy and what you are doing with it. I bought my HP with vista, a dual core amd, and 2 gigs of ram (forget the other specs). The thing crashed every other day and was very slow, even after a memory upgrade and hd video card install. You were one of the lucky ones.

I've been running it since it was released and I havn't had a single error with it except for errors caused by my hardware and bios (unrelated to the OS)

I have to say I'm a fan of both os. I own both PC and MAC I love both! I do have to say when I buy a "Laptop" I buy Macbook Pro why? Well the Macbook Pro is engineered to last vs the cheap plastic laptops that you can get and tend to have to be replaced every 1-2yrs were I get about 5yrs with the Macbook also I never had to reformat it. Games/Programming Windows 7 is king. Learn to love both for what they are and get over the Mine is Better than Yours thing...come on kids...

Windows is always more vulnerable to malware compared to Mac and Linux because more people use Windows. There's no point in creating a virus when it wouldn't damage many computers.
As an average computer user, I find Windows more practical. The cheapest Macbook in my country is around Php. 50 000. I can buy a Windows laptop that runs on Intel i5, 4 GB RAM, Dolby Surround Sound, 3D graphics and still probably have enough money for a Nokia C6

just save some money and buy an imac or built a hackcintosh.Macs are soo much better than windows.For e.x i open 64 programs(with photoshop,after effects and some others from adobe) on my mac at the same time and it didnt even lag for 0,1 sec.Then i tried the same with windows on the same machine and i had to force shutdown it=====>both machines 3,2 ghz intel core i3 4gb ram and 1 tb harddrive=imac 27 inch (using bootcamp i installed win 7).
But in utube everybody supports what he bought so...

Windows 7 is pretty much like Mac OS X! They copied the dock (in a way) and the windows explorer is practicly the same as Macs Finder. I am swithching to mac cause windows is crap. Windows 7 is what i run but it gives me problems. EVERY WINDOWS OS GIVES PROBLEMS.

Nope, the reason Windows has more viruses is because Windows holds 91% of the operating system market share, Mac and Linux share the other 9%, Now if you were any good at math, you would see virus creators target viruses for Windows as they would hit a much much larger userbase than if they wrote one for Mac or Linux.

windows demands to be cracked, pirated, hacked, you name it, because of price/programming mistakes even in final release versions, while Linux is free it has almost just as many bugs (at least mint 7 was kind of buggy for me, no system crash only software crashes demanding restarts to often) and mac = ridiculous considering the base of the OS and the price of software & hardware... pirates win until these shmucks learn to polish a product before throwing it 4 sale :P

@iscay666 It might perhaps , after the still obscenely long boot time and after you click ok , letting windows know its ok to perform the action. But after all that time has passed, the mac has already booted up, downloaded a few songs (virus free) and has stuck a cork in your peehole. I have a Win7 machine, and have been using windows since 3.1 days, after using OSX 10.2 and now 10.6, I can't stand windows.

Mac would be 90% if they didn't cost as much as they do and the reason for the high price tag is that everything is made to WORK for that machine. When buy things for a pc, it can sometimes be a bitch to make them work. I am using my mac, I play games on it all the time, usually while using a pc for downloaded tv shows. You don't have to be a dick to get a point across.

If mac was cheap like a pc and compatible and customizable like windows is, becouse frankly the default layout for make looks like a kinnda garden playground. Windows gets to the point, mac is all flashy and ram wasting animations of simple things like "Moving a file" Why do you need some fancy animation for somthing so mundane. It just waistes recources.

@Alex148710 just depends on what machine you buy and what you are doing with it. I bought my HP with vista, a dual core amd, and 2 gigs of ram (forget the other specs). The thing crashed every other day and was very slow, even after a memory upgrade and hd video card install. You were one of the lucky ones.

@cubx1979 If you don't like the layout of Windows 7's Control Pannel here is a little tip:
Create a new folder and name it: GodMode.{ed7ba470-8e54-465e-825c-99712043e01c}
Voila, you have now enabled GodMode which allows you to do about anything in the control pannel.. Hope it helped!
And yes both Vista and 7 were stable with 1Gb of RAM, little bit slow though.. (good enough for a 7-8 years old computer)

@kewinm1000 actually, vista is one of the best operating systems that have been made so far, the only problem is idiot users who don't know what they're doing and blame microsoft for it. I've been running it since it was released and I havn't had a single error with it except for errors caused by my hardware and bios (unrelated to the OS)

At this point in time, ANY brand of computer with a quad core i5 is going to cost approximately $800-1200. And yes Mac is at the upper end of it, but guess why...Its a stable machine with KILLER software that you can USE immediately out of the box. No trials, no crapware.
