@FayeChan01 because of money. they rather sing in mandarin to impress billions of fans in china.they also get criticised for little things if they sing in taiwanese.like pronunciation..etc. by all the so called experts..and they proudly sing english songs with their poor english and get high praises. the people in taiwan still have a lot of growing up to do..
Let me ask you something, do you really think that your English is that perfect and you're the only one who can " sing " in that language and how could you judge people in Taiwan with such a statement ? You are Chinese, aren't you ? If you can not write in chinese letters, then probably you should be ashamed to use " chan " as your surname !!! now how do you feel ? angry i bet you are, but the point i 'd like to address is you should appreciate what others do.

taiwanese songs are not hip among youngsters in taiwan. mandarin songs are. taiwanese songs are seen as 俗. older generation than hear 台語歌曲....

I wish she made more Taiwanese songs, it's funny it's the most common used language after Mandarin. Yet none of the artists use it
