  • 0:54 in the video, shows the old Clark Avenue Bridge, which was demolished in 1985.

  • Awesome tune. We used to blast this while cruising in my buddy's Plymouth back in the day. Great beat.

  • From Chicago, but this one speaks to any working class city boy...and I've been to Cleveland a couple times and I've enjoyed my stay!

  • The Detroit DJs would interject "DETROIT" into the song at "This town is my town....DETROIT!....all right." Great song.

  • Love this song. Love the sexual assaults and harassment in the video also.

  • Mike still ripin it on stage with the resonators and can hear him on his dj gig on 98.5 wncx. Not from there but yeah CLEVELAND ROCKS

  • Cleveland ROCKS!!!!!!

  • Go CaVs!!!

  • MSB was such a part of growing up in Cleveland in the 70s and 80s. I live in LA now and heard "Lover" coming out of my neighbor's window... yep, found out he was from Cleveland too!

  • Michael and the band hit #39 in Billboard, 11-12-83. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • @Oldschoolhockey91 Much love from a CLE boy for Buff. Love the city of Buffalo, ur boys the Goo Goo Dolls, and the Anchor Bar. Def root for the Bills when you guys aren't playing the Browns. Give ya credit for wanting to call CLE home- everyone (myself included) is leaving. Go Tribe, Browns (and Bills)

  • Cleveland sucks canal water...but this song is cool. They should have wrote it about Columbus instead.

  • A Kentucky Boy who thinks Cleveland is one of America's great cities!

  • M.s.b. needs to come down to ocala florida and show these stupid rednecks what real rock is about

  • never ever forget where you came from, just in case you have to go back, if you get really famous, give props to all the people fromk your town.

  • Detroit native, worked in Toledo, Cleve rocks, nothing to be ashamed of. Corporate America is fucking the middle class in the ass, but we won't give in easily.

  • from a Rock 'n roller from way back.....I can tell you...that no one....I mean nobody...ever .........and I mean.....EVER......in rock history played tighter....more tenacious.....and hotter than these gies in their heyday....and I've seen 'em all.....!!!

These gies were like majic and Had ESP and a connectiveness and intertwining like no band I have ever seen......Agora cols ohio....1983.....

you can take that to the Bank.....Bro'.........

  • one of the coolest guitar solos ever!

  • timing in the video is off from the song!!!

  • no thnx 2 assholes like obama, the American working class lifestyle depicted in this video is but a memory! i'm from chicago, but i've been to cleveland, and it's been great. and although chicago's got a rich musical heritage (except for smashing pumpkins & that faggot-wigger eminem), i can say that i also love what ohio has given us: msb, raspberries, glass harp, james gang & even devo (u gotta admit, they're original) to name a few! from chicago to cleveland, peace!

  • Still a killer number even after all these years !!!!!

  • Grew up as a 12 year old loving this music as much as Billy Squire, Loverboy, Nightranger, and then realized that Michael Stanley "stood up" to a major record label and refused the national deal, then got crushed by that label pulling the tour bus, promotion for the band(label guys calling the next city and telling them to stop playing the songs) and Kevin going to L.A. to do his "Moonlight on Water" song......but this is his best stuff....you guys are Cleveland!

  • Love this!

  • This is my favorite Michael Stanley Band song. Great band. Great concerts. Great memories. I actually met Pat Benetar at a Michael Stanley concert at the Youngstown Agora in '81. She was playing the next night (sat.) and she and her husband Neil came to see him. I was told who she was, went over, introduced myself, and they graciously invited me to join them at their table for a drink and to watch the rest of the set. Very cool.

  • Damn, this brings back memories.

  • Great song----wanted it played at our wedding along with Runnin' back to Saskatoon but the disc jockey had the wrong date--Anyways "My Town" sounds better each time--thanx for puttin' it on---it should have gone higher on the charts--notice the great back rhythm..

  • Oh man, between the Agora and Richfield Coliseum, when those places had concerts, they were packed houses in the 70's and 80's. But that's because Cleveland was good to the great bands that they scheduled to play there.

  • @Grapes428 I haven't seen the term "Richfield Coliseum" in ages. (I've driven by it a few times.) My cousin went to see Air Supply there as part of her graduation present.

  • love it!

  • I love this guy..Wow soo much talent.Makes you want to get up and start dancing, and singing..

  • Thank God for gpater2, and TG for YouTube, and TG for MSB. I grew up in Westlake and was raised on Cleveland ROCK! The best days ever! Just can't stand the weather in Ohios' north coast. BUT - CLEVELANDERS KNOW GREAT ROCK AND ROLL! To all you rappers, and hip hoppers - - - good-bye - your stuff won't last.... THIS ROCK WILL LIVE FOREVER!

  • I didn't even realize these guys were from Cleveland. I was born there but have been living in New Haven, CT for the past 10 years. Cleveland is still home to me, especially since the rest of my family is there. I have this song on a CD "Cleveland Indians Jacobs Field Era". I love this track! :)

  • I remember in my teens, having a blast watching MSB at Blossom, sitting on the lawn, getting drunk on White Mountain Wine Coolers they sold there in these white plastic cups. It was a perfect 80s concert experience.

  • Awesome. I have the tape if any of you guys want to see the live performances from blossom. I'd upload them. From what my dad tells me MSB sold out Blossom like tons of times. Awesome band and i'm only 19!!!!

  • Not only did they sell out Blossom multiple times, they'd sell it out like three nights in a row! At the time, I believe that was a record for the venue. I dunno if it still stands or not, though. I believe the same thing would happen when MSB would play at Richfield Coliseum.

  • Good riddance LeBron James, you self proclaimed "king". I hope you and your whole family are cursed forever. you phony pompous punk

  • we've had great bands that came out of ohio, it's nice when someone posts a video like this. it takes everyone back.thank you for posting this video, it reminds me of growing up in youngstown when times were better.

  • Great song OHIO =]

  • Hit #11 rock, #39 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • See 1:45. Isn't this band aware that sexual harassment is illegal?

  • a little MSB to get me moving today....

  • This V ideo "ROCKS"............... Great JOB!!

  • Kept the band from bein' a 1 hit wonder. He can't love you made #33 in '81. My town peaked at #39.

  • HAHA I remember that "Watch the tribe come alive in 85" long time ago... MSB still rocks , I never pass up a time to see them

  • Always loved my town (which is actually Cincinnati), but MSB is proof that Cleveland ROCKS!

  • I'm from Buffalo and I have visited Cleveland for the last 4 years and since I first seen Cleveland, I fell in love with the city immediately.

I go to Cleveland every year for my birthday and I hope after college I'll call Cleveland Home.

Much love from Buffalo guys, We miss havin ya as our parent baseball club.

    GO TRIBE!

  • @Oldschoolhockey91 check out clevelandcabby com all about Cleveland

  • Go Aeros, Go Zips, Go Racers-My Town!!!!!!

  • Great guitar solo !

  • Where can I copy of bernie bernie ? This was the Cleveland Browns playoff song when Bernie Kosar "almost" took them to the playoffs.

  • Go Tribe-Go Browns-Go Cavs!-My town.

  • Great song from the excellent album "You Can´t Fight Fashion "(1983).

  • MSB rocked Western PA during my high school days. We used to go to Ohio since the drinking age was 18 and see MSB perform.

    Go Steelers!

  • YouTube should have his "This is my Team" song for the '85 Indians. Good stuff.

  • I remember when this song was a big hit in 83. They used to put Phoenix in the song. The Song Rocked for the 80's.

  • hey its good to see the old "Michael Warm up Band" video again.

  • Drew Carey should have used this for the theme song of his old TV show. instead of Cleveland Rocks. Would have been a nice gesture to a fellow Clevelander...

  • After hearing these songs after 20 years, The band FREAKING rocked, Mike, well, not so much. Hope those guys went far.

  • Yeah, MMS, once home of the buzzard, now just home of shit music. Whatever happened to good music played on instruments and great vocals? MSB, you'll always rock!

  • go cleveland sport's msb rocks

  • I remember when this song was on they would put Minneapolis in the song This song was hot in this area still a top favorite Thanks for posting

  • This is one of the best rock and roll songs of all time. I never get tired of hearing it. Cool video, too. Damn, I wish I could time travel back to this era and just re-live the 80s, then when 1990 hit, just go back to the 80s again and do that for the rest of my life! Music, style, and for the most part, television just went down the tubes once the 90s came along and we've never recovered :-( Although, thank God for the internet so we can see gems like these.

  • This is one of my favorite MSB videos!

  • Go Tribe-Go Browns.

  • Go Cavs!

  • This is one of my favorite videos ever! Lived in Cleveland for 14 years. I miss it very much.

  • I grew up on the east side of Cleveland, so this song leaves a soft spot in my heart for Cleveland....

  • i grew up in lorain, not cleveland but close enough i guess so i have a soft spot too. i remember hearing this song on wmms when i was a kid.makes me home sick.

  • i live in cleveland and you dont even wanna know the shit music wmms plays now. now wncx clevelands classic rock is the only good station micheal stanley is a disk jockey on it ive seen him in person a few times.

  • I dont know why this song brought me to tears, I guess because Q102 in Cincinnati played this having a insert of Cincinnati in the song even though its about Cleveland.

  • WDVE in Pittsburgh did the same thing. They put a "Pittsburgh" insert during the refrain . . .

  • Yeah, they did a special mix for each major market, and sent it out to radio stations. There was a documentary done about 8 or 9 years ago where Michael Stanley said they had to find the right place to slip in the name of the city where that particular promo single was going to go to. That's must have been an interesting day in the studio. Kinda like how national TV personalities used to do station ID's for each city's network affiliate.

  • Columbus also had an insert in this song

  • I always loved this song. MSB was my first concert. My parents took me when I was 5. Thats was back in 1987 at Blosom. Wierd that I remember that.

  • Walking up the ramp to Municipal-Browns-Indians - dont matter. Jacobs Field-gund Arena-All of it -its HOME

Anyway, thanks for a great season, Spartans!

  • This ought to be played in Lansing, Michigan, home of the Michigan State Spartans, in honor of Tom Izzo and his basketball team. Good Luck to you against UNC!

  • I think it would be awesome if "MY TOWN" was played inbetween innings at the ballpark..

  • Or maybe after every victory. I like your idea!

  • Awesome! Brings back some memories. I have the whole collection of MSB albums/cassettes/CD's.

  • Love the Freighter docked on the Mighty Cuyahoga @ 55 seconds. Herman Playground Rules.

  • Cleveland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This video makes me proud to be a lifelong west sider. Michael Stanley, an alum of my Alma Mater, Rocky River High School. I had to watch this video as our Brownies are ready to take off this season! GO BROWNS!! Browns and Buckeyes in 08!!

  • I first heard of MSB in the fall of 1977 at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fl., when someone with university's program board cued it up on the sound system at a school function. The album was StagePass and I couldn't wait to buy it myself. I still have the original vinyl, and the CD now. Not too many people from down south know about them, and I take great pleasure in spreading the word. Great stuff!

  • Gahanna, Ohio. Grew up in Austintown, Ohio and went to Hiram College. Love MSB. Remember their concerts at the Struthers Field House and Metroplex in Warren. Memories...

  • You just can't get it better than this. I love the 80's.

  • Nice "Daisy Dukes", Bob.

  • This is one of the best songs of 1983. I remember that this song used to have a version for some cities. I lived in Pittsburgh in 1983 and during the song they used to yell Pittsburgh during the song. I know the band made several other versions for other cities. How cool!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes Wild, I think it was WDVE that played the "Pittsburgh" version. Come to think they may have been the ONLY station in town that even played MSB. They really were great-I love Falling In Love Again(a bit sappy, but great)

  • They play it sometimes on the "electric Lunch." I love this song.

  • You are correct. It was WDVE. I know this band was from Ohio and I believe there are Cleveland and other local cities recorded.

    HOW COOL

  • Canfield, Ohio...Proud native and fan of MSB. Keep on rockin', Michael Stanley.

  • GO TRIBE. GO BROWNS. GO CAVS. Our Town. • One of the best songs of 1983.

  • Michael was born on March 25 you twit. Today is his 60th. You probably wish your dad was born 12 days later.

  • Sorry! The Cleveland magazine said he was born on the 13th. I'm sorry I got the facts wrong.

  • Besides, twit, I was only 12 days off. It was still the same month and year. Besides, did you meet him? I did. Bite me.

  • Did your dad go to a sold-out concert? Mine did. And you can't say he wasn't born in Cleveland, I just checked his website.

  • Me and my Dad are HUGE fans! In fact, me and Michael are both from C-Town! My dad was also born on 3-13-48, same day as Michael!

And of course, Michael Stanley is always busy in the studio working on his next release - we'll keep you posted

  • Blows Montgomery Gentry off the map--Michael is a class act....

  • This song is so danged hard to find! Glad you posted it here. I've always loved it.

  • I have the Minneapolis version of "My Town".

  • This is a great song that has been redone as a new single released by the Povertyneck Hillbillies. This is a country/rock band from Western Pa. They are the offical band of the Pittsburgh Steelers so this song is played often on the raido stations . you can hear them here on YouTube. My in-laws used to live near Cleveland in the late 80's. I always had a fun time when I was there.

  • never insult Cleveland like that again.

  • michael stanley is cool...however cleveland is a laughing stock.....and becoming a ghost town as everobody leaves...

  • Ohio in general is going through a rough time. We are one of four or five states in which the economy never rebounded. Things are tough here right now everywhere. The best things in Ohio are the Buckeyes, Browns and Indians.

  • agreed!!!!!

  • I've been gone for many years but their is still no place like home. Cleveland is a great place and they love their city. Look at the Dawg pound and their is a reason it's the home of rock and roll.

  • what's going on in that scene in the beginning when they're in cars and the waitress takes their orders...?

  • michael stanley is re-living his youth while he is driving back to cleveland
