i cant believe this shit worked i had like 5 360s with rrod and i got 3 of them working by per-heating my oven to 375 f degrees and putting my xbox in there for 10 min then letting it cool for about 45 min. thumbs up for making this vid. :D
i did this method and did it all correctly, i even put triple layers of tape an tin foil but when cooking it in the oven, a few diodes blew up. is it still fixable? i REALLY need this xbox back because its jtag-able. could i buy more and re-solder them? please help me!
I did mine for 9 minutes at 500 degrees farenheit, I insulated the outer edges (resistors, transistors etc.) with a towel and left the center exposed minus the heat syncs. reapplied thermal paste. did the penny trick, and voila. it worked
If you had changed the temp to 356F (180C), removed the cage, heatsinks and all of the old thermal paste and had the board on a oven pan with 4 balls of foil on the corners keeping it up about a half inch from the pan, and did that... it would have lasted longer, the heatsinks took most of the heat away from the chips and the solder points (which need to melt back into place), but overall great vid
Pre heat oven to 385, place xbox in for about 8 Min.
Let cool for 10 min
Put just a half drop of Arctic Silver 5 on the Gpu / Cpu Ditch the X clamps cause they blow and get some M5 8 Machine Screws and 2 washers on each side of screw.
Tighten till tight but not too tight.
.... xbox wont RROD again if you mod a fan into the system... use a 2" hole saw and drill a hole where the heatpipe is, get a 60 - 70mm fan and zip tie it to the thing... solder the red/black to the red black of the Rear fans.
17 000 people saw me scratching my balls. I can die happy.

120oC will not do the job properly. You should be looking at somewhere between 200-220oC ;)
