  • Tim Mullins who posted this is a hair dresser in Pound Va. not to mention a HOMO, if he doesn't like it here, go to California with the rest of you friends.

  • god save our mountains

  • @jwhamilton79 you suck

  • It's to late for Dickenson,Wise and Buchanan counties. The water is filty, poison, the land is destroyed. The deep holes of water that once were good for fishing are gone. About ankle deep now. The people in Alaska are the ones who need to see this and wake up. They want to start strip mining there now. They want to strip an eleven mile long Salmon stream under the same lie as always. They will put it back just like it was.It can never be put back like it was. They must never let that happen there

  • and poopoo2u you should see this is ecologic genocide if you do live in appalachia or va you know what it looked like before you had isolated mines in the hollows now they are ripping up ridge avenue i like electricty too but damn there are cleaner ways to mine coal and the small amount of jobs brought back by mtr is a pittance to what was here when westmoreland was mining you should be ashamed of yourself

  • @MichaelPDA this is why people are so stupid. You think that only the miners will be out of jobs. What about the truck drivers, part stores, gas companies, insurance companies, mine inspectors, mechanics and the list goes on. The economics of this area would go down, over half of the area would be out of jobs not just the miners, but hey we couldn't pay the bills feed our families but we could die of starvation looking at the mountains. Get real people.

  • i also really like how you included appalachia's news board showing the water shortage. what the hell does that have to do with the rest of the video? our water shortage was caused by drought conditions and had nothing to do with mining whatsoever!

  • if you don't like coal... turn off your electricity!

  • LET THE COAL ROLL!!!

  • FRIENDS OF COAL

  • I live right ihere in wise! and people who dont like it can get the crap over it! I go to school right here. And i love wise with all my hear(:

  • Most of Virginia's surface mines are not MTR. That is what is wrong people spout off about thing they know nothing about. There may be less than one percent of people in Wise County that are against mining are they are being paid. It is the same people in Wise county that bitch about everything. They know who they are. If you people hate coal so much call your power company and tell them to disconnect your power. If I didn't agree with a company I would not support them.

  • @surfaceblaster33 RIGHT ON!!

  • Do you think they would do this in Montana? In Wyoming? In Pennsylvania? Would they do this in Colorado? There are 27 states with coal mines. They only do this in a small area in the southeast because the people that live there either put up with it or have no advocates in government.

Change that and you will get them out. Fight back!!

  • @shellius Yeah ok! We should fight back to end our jobs. You are not too bright. Or you could come pay all the bills and feed families for the people that would be out of jobs.

  • @tiffanynl1 You are polluting my country, my state, the air in my environment. YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THAT. Stop mining coal, it's deadly for everyone and every thing it touches. And you do NOT have the right to pollute the world that belongs to the rest of us. Get educated, moron.

  • @shellius Thank you but I am educated! I do have a degree in Environmental Science so I know what the mines can do if not properly reclaimed. But you people don't complain when they use the 4 lanes, stores, and hospitals that are built on old strip mines. You don't complain when you turn on your lights, air conditioners, or heat. So support coal or freeze in the dark!

  • stop fuckin complaining you fuckin pansey's. only good jobs around here is coal mining.

  • Vernon - Why is it that the coal supporters always have to be so abusive, mean and hateful to the people who love Virginia's mountains?

  • @mountainjustice Why do people have to complain and try to take away our source of income and our way of living? When our jobs are on the line we tend to get defensive. So leave our jobs alone and quit whining and I guarantee people would be nicer to you.

  • Mountain top removal coal mining must stop. It's eating up home so fast, soon there won't be any mountains left and the only thing anybody will see from high knob will be Wallens ridge prision, rock, mud and rubble. It makes me sick. I wish i would have found this video when i was canvassing to ban mtr mining last year so i could have shown people how awful it is. Now i'm home sick and just plain sick.

  • Me too. I miss this place, it's so sad to have this happen to home sweet home.

  • this makes me miss home.

  • Me too. I grew up here, and moved to SC when I was 11. Now, nearly 6 years later, I miss it more than anything.

  • that is around the same time i left. but i have been gone for about 9 years now.

  • what school did you go to? i went to wise county schools, like primary school and then middle

  • Clean Coal?
