@nathanallan1 - so where in El Paso is this thrift store? I'd like to check it out when I get a chance :) I've been thinking about buying a broken 360 for a while now, fixing it, putting a clear case on it, new fans, mods, etc. I think you know what I mean.
I don't want to make you feel like "tech support", but I wanted to hook up my computer to some older TVs. One TV has UHF/VHF (RF and 2-screw things lol) and another has RCA, S-vid, and component. My comp has DVI and HDMI, thanks!
@sonic3243 It's near the corner of Montana Ave and Fort Blvd, they have changing stuff there, so what you find might be new.
The easiest way I think to connect the PC, HDMI/DVI is a DVI-Component cable; those outputs are native to DVI. Google DVI-Component, see all the ways of making it happen. To go to svideo or composite is trickier-- you need an adapter box, not very cheap devices. But they can be had for ~$120USD. There's serious hardware in those things.
Xbox 360's are worth fixing the RROD on them, you just have to make sure you do everything right. Then you can sell it for around $129, just don't pay more than $40 for a broken 360 and don't spend more then $15 for the parts needed. You can also get component cables for $4-$8 instead of HDMI.
@sonic3243 I could fix it, but so far I can't stand working on them; can't fix bad engineering, that's what it has. So you know I had a game shop here in El Paso for a while, and that's what turned me off to the 360 as a personal system. I fixed too many of them to like them :)
It's always fun to watch these thrift/flea videos and great seeing and hear the interaction with the people there.
