That's what I always thought when looking at those soviet armoured vehicles, roaming through that valles - how can they get the elevation to shoot back?

@ThePakiparis that is a very good point. i only have limited information on this so i might be wrong. but its more like the mujahideens turned on america shortly after russia pulled out. i have a good example, we supported the the north koreans when they were fighting the japanese, so nk was "good" in the 1940s. but then after the japanese pullout the north koreans without futher diplomacy launch a full scale invasion of the south. thats the best ive got to make sense of what is happening now.
