amazing story about your grandmother...I have a comic that was given to me by my late brother that I feel the same way about...thanks for sharing your great stories and info.
Thanks for answering my question, I will definitely be checking out your other videos because your videos have been so informative and just a pleasure to watch.
I have been collecting off and on since 1978 but i don't have the comics to show for it.I have moved around alot and sadly i have lost alot of comics.Currently i'm 80 comics behind i hope to get caught up sometime. After that there are back issues i'm lookin for and that should help build up my collection. My neighbor at the time introduced me to comics when i was 8.
Not proud of it but I used to be one of those people that considered his collection of comics were going to be my retirement fund & back then it was laughable to think that considering what was in my longboxes. Since my time here on Youtube, watching yourself, Scott & Dan among others my whole collecting experience took a 180 degree turn & now my experiences & motivation for this hobby is of pure love for the medium & how it's enriched my life personally, I sincerely thank you for that!
@GhostCritic Oh Marc, don't be hard on yourself. I was out for the score as well too as different points. And part of my love for your channel is watching your evolution! It's just fascinating and I'm glad I've contributed in some small way! you've energized my ethusiasim!
Oh wow. I figured that a sandman book might be in consideration for best book since 1990, but I totally forgot about that issue. That's awesome. For all the drek that came out in the 90's, vertigo was still pumping out solid books. Thanks for answering my question man!
@howdeep02 Now that the 90's have been over long enough that nostalgia can hit, the cream of the crop can rise. Robinson's Starman, Gaiman's Sandman,Helboy's still kicking, Bone, etc...the good stuff was there all along buried amonst the filth!
@pmknight12 Oh yeah I'm really excited about how the jam cover seemsto be coming along but it's driving me crazy not being able see it LOL! After all the stinkers and winners I've seen on tv and at the movies I just truely believe they'll nail it sooner or later. I just wonder if itt'll be in my lifetime LOL!
I always liked the legion of superheroes and all the quirky teens with their weird superpowers and origins. I had the hard back compilations of those and need to get them again. My first comic was a DC Tarzan in 73 so a couple years older. Good video and I agree about better writing.
Thanks for answering my questions.I also have had the " I'm sick of all my books" syndrome three times in my life. Each of which led to me selling my entire collection on three seperate occasions in an effort to "grow up" stop buying childish stuff like;comic books.Stop living the "Peter Pan" lifestyle! Well, needless to say, I no long care about "growing up" and will continue to buy them until I die.I guess i'll always be "para siempre un nino".(forever a child) :)) Congrats:Fishnet Repair Lad.
@DARKMATTER1968 thanks man! and yes I know exactly what your talking about. I remeber being about 26 and spontaniously yeing," I'm a grown ass man! What am I doing!" I was never ashamed but I definitely wave the flag harder now about comics!
Thanks sooo much for answering my question man. Always good to know your insights and as always I am a big fan of your videos and cannot wait for the next installment.
I wish I could have spent an hour with Jack Kirby, and just watch him crank out all those pages of art. I had the pleasure of meeting Will Eisner many years ago, and I to am a fan of The Spirit! I dispise the new Superman costume. I agree about the first Supes movie. WTG grandma! Robert Crumb, yes! Quality stories, and stop with all the mulitple titles with the same characters. I think my first comic I bought myself, was a Tarzan, some time in the mid 50's. LOL...Jonny Quest...yes!!!! New Gods!
@hippyscollectables I'm soooo glad that you've started watching an commenting! I like when people get excitied about the "older" stuff. And thank god I don't have to explain who Jonny Quest is!
@Gambit7075 Thanks man! This Fishnet Repair Lad thing gotten a few more laughs than I expected. I made it up on the spot! I'm finally thinking it's funny too!
@koestenbraumstar I rather think about his wedding than his honeymoon! ZING!!! I say just let the guy marry Supergirl. She's married everyone else at some point including a horse!
Loved the questions and video's. Congrats on the 100th video, and I know who's video I'm going to steel idea from when I get to mine. Fantastic job dude.
@gopeepants Thanks man! The whole Fisner Repair Lad was honestly thought of on the spot and I completely forgot about it until it your comment. Thanks for all the kind comments and watching bro!
