  • 2 words, mad max.

  • looks like fun!!

  • My Dad stationed at Petawawa during WW2 as a lieutenant with the royal canadian engineers...is this a ww1 or ww2 truck?

  • @rzwilli i am not sure if any of thoses realy participated at the war on the field, they where amo hauler at first. WW2 period.

  • Allo !

  • Good car to army USA :)

  • There is two of those in the woods behind my grandfathers house both Chevys and both rusted really bad. I'm thinking of taking the good parts from both and making a half decent one. Good thing that he also has a couple of straight 6 engines identical to the ones in the trucks in a building

  • @macewen01 Where are you located ? might be interested in some parts...

  • @patswazent prince edward island, Canada.

    what parts do you need?

  • @macewen01 good luck with that, take picture/video and show that to us !!

  • We had a lot of these in Australia in the 60's that came out under Lend Lease, along with Jeeps and Harley Davidson WLA's. A schoolfriend's father made a million dollars or so buying them at auction and selling them off. I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that parts for the Chev and Ford trucks were designed to be interchangable. BTW they are not ugly vehicles at all, but very nice to look at.

  • thats a very unsual truck. What is it?

  • @suedebear Army utility truck/amo hauler, early 40's. ford cab over gm frame.

  • @patswazent Its a Canadian Made Ford or Chevy CMP 15wt

  • @pteJames Thats right. I photohraphed two together in southern Ontario junkyard. WWII era vehicles I belive, and pretty dam rare. Felecitation!

  • @pteJames go us canadians

  • That is truly amazing. Are you going to restore it?

  • how long has that truck sitting there?

  • i'd be scared seeing that come at me at a high speed

  • this truck as well deserved as a beautiful restoration! would be beautiful!

  • même pas su'l 4 roues .. made in quebec ?

  • Cool to see it leave where it was left for dead under its own power. Looks like a great project.

  • My Dad had one of these at his old VW workshop in Moorabin , Melbourne, Australia.

Used it to pick up the remnants of old beetles and Kombis before we new what they would be worth some day. All gone now, although I believe someone restored the truck.

  • raggly ass truck

  • al it needs is a fix up and itll be all good

  • LOL, that's fucking cool as hell. I'd get her running again but leave the beautiful patina like it is! Funny, it reminds me of a Unimog with the square cab and the little drop in the "hood" right in front of the winshield so the driver can see better. Only is has a much weaker engine than the 'Mog would have, and smaller wheels. Is that a 4-cylinder? Sounds geared all to hell. Is it 4x4 or 4x2?

  • 6 cyl, 4x4, geared to tow

  • its a 85bhp chev inline petrol 6 and 4x4 not quite as modern as a mog but still a brilliant truck off road and on. my father has one restored.

  • that's a major chic magnet

  • i got to get one of these

  • Love those old Army vehicles! This had to be the ugliest truck ever built- But I want one!!!!!!

  • that is a CMP canadian military parttern truck...they were bult by chev and for bothe had straight six engines in them...i have a chev cmp with a straight six out of a nova ..i put an arch on the back with a winch and use it for a skidder and i take the arch off and put a huge backhoe on back too..mines about a 6 ton i think not too sure tho..awesome machines not too fun to drive tho haha...i've clocked my father going 60 mph with back hoe on it and noooooo breaks...was scary to watch

  • So you're sure this is a Chevy not a Ford? I believe it; it doesn't sound like a V8. Do you know what type this CMP is? They had everything from 1/2ton to 3 ton versions, with a number of cab designs. I'd guess this is no bigger than a 3/4 ton (15cwt), and it has a Type 13 cab. I guess it was short so they could fit lots of then the ships, and the windshield was angled downwards a little to keep light from glaring so aircraft could see it.

  • it is actualy a hybrid, the frame and engine is from a very early GM one (1939 iirc), and the cab is a ford one. dont ask me why.

  • @patswazent The RCEME repair shops didn't care if they were working on a Ford or a Chevy and would sometimes strip junked CMPs for parts. My 1942 Ford CMP has a Chevy dash, engine cover and driver's door for that reason.

  • mine is a s c60 i don't really know what cab style but very very similar to the one in the video and yes its a chevy....fords and chevy's were the exact same tho accept the engine. and of course some of the tags

  • nice Gas can strapped to the dash inside the cab there by the windshield. . .

That is how my Stude M275 is right now only i have a boat tank strapped to the inner fender well . . .

    AMX

  • get a gmc cckw to wreck that car:d

nice to see an old warrior saved from the cutting torch

  • i and walk faster then that truck. Greg

  • That thing's uuuuugly! lol

  • this truck can drive on any roads / streets without a license and insurance

  • What do you mean bestamerica ?

this truck islocated in Quebec, canada, and as far as i know, even a law mower would need t be plated if driven on the street.

    please elaborate.

  • my bet is that bestamerica is not a well man

  • I think he's talking about vehicle registration. What, yhou don't need license plates in Quebec? In the US you need to have any vehicle you drive on the road licensed and insured. Technically, that counts lawn tractors too. People DO drive them down the road a little way, but technically it's not legal. You could get "Agricultural" plates for this beast probably, and avoid inspections and license and stuff, but you couldn't just go drive around in it. Not legally, anyway ;)

  • what kind of truck is that?

  • this is a chevrolet guntractor built be chevrolet of canada

  • bawilem sie wtakim w latach 80 stal u mnie na podworku CHEWROLET CANADA POZDRO Z POLSKI POLAND

  • cool
