  • "does not work with laptops"

lololol if you are asking questions like that, then you are not ready to use this.

  • @ferretspy440 it will work with laptops but not for 100$ it will set you back 1k to work on a laptop

  • how can i use this with a vga monitor

  • @12jai80 HDMI to DVI converter.

  • How do you tell if you have pci-express

  • @SpepsyBoy

    1. Go to google.com.

    2.Google "PCI-Express slot".

    3. look at images.

    4. Open your computer and see if you have that slot.

  • FINALLY !!! A DUDE WHO KNOWS STUFF !!!

I've been looking forever if the AVerTV HD DVR CaptureCard had HDMI input & Output, thanks you kstyles for clearing that up, i'll be sure to buy a splitter in addition to this card, so i can record & play at the same time ^^

    YEAH MAN !!!

  • @Hamzawax i have just installed this card and have realized that now I need a spliter..did you find one and does it have to have an amplifier?

  • @eArtrash No i havent found a splitter, but there are splitters at amazon.com. There are splitters with & without amplifiers, i suggest with amplifiers. But make sure the power supply contact maches your country ETC

  • what type of computer do u hav?

  • OMG i just got figuring out i dont have the correct input...FML

  • How do you install it?

  • can you use these for games?

  • argggg is there no way it will work on a laptop ?

  • Does the cap card actually record your tv or do you have to record your computer screen with fraps?

  • lol man u made me laugh, when u said "make sure u have the pci-e slot before u perchase this card " Which i did n i dont have that stupid slot !! gona buy a new Mobo tomorrow !! :D

  • JUST PC

  • work with laptob or just PC ? nd duz it support PAL60 ?

    thx

  • when is the hdmi usb capture card out!?

  • works with mac? cuz i wanted to get a mac and wondering if it could work with it beacuse macs for the editing and aver is cheaper

  • @djpolak12345 no no no no

  • FUDGE TITZ! owell i might just get a windows then, but there has to be a way to get Aver to record games without the bitrate thingy and copyrights, would VDub work?

  • @djpolak12345 Check the blackmagic website for mac capture cards (hardware)

  • @djpolak12345 You need a Comp, with a PC1 slot, most macs have PC16

  • How about the card PCI-E can support in MAC...???

  • does gameplay lag at all

  • which has better quality this or the hauppauge hd pvr?

  • there pretty much the same i would go with HD PVR beacuse i dont want the card to be inside my computer, and that it sucks beacuse of copyright issues you have to record your computer screen using fraps to record the game

  • does ustream allow u to stream with this card?

  • @CapcomsHero

Yea i'd like to know that too, if it supports Wirecast / Flash Media Live Encoder / whatever DirectShow'ish

  • Yes it does.I tested it out just because you asked.

But not using hdmi or component. Only using svideo or standard definition (meaning red, white, yellow)

  • the low profile is for smaller PCs right b/c i have a dell optiplex 740 the new ones that are in similar shape to the 360, thin and small.. so i was wondering if the low profile was meant for the smaller pcs

  • correct

  • thank you 4 reply ill be ordering this soon

  • You can use an PCI-E X1 card in a full sized slot, actually. So you can use a X16, X8, X4 and X1 slot for this. Doesn't matter.

  • correct

  • So how do you like it?

  • love it man

  • i have this problem when i try to record, it always says cannot record due to copyright stuff so i have to use fraps : (

  • this is laptop compatible???

  • does anybody know how much the usb HD DVR is going to cost?

  • around $180 - $200 close to the price of the hauppauge but this will have hdmi output

  • Great unboxing would i need to purchase this even tho i have a hdmi port built into my laptop (compaq presario cq60)

  • First This will not work with laptops due to the lack of pci-e slot.

Second hdmi port on laptop is just output you cannot import video into your laptop

  • @kstyles662 lol

  • Great unboxing man!, thanks for the info, really helpful!

  • when is the usb version out? when in march cos i cant find anything out about it

  • I talk to someone at Avermedia and they have now pushed it back to April 2010 not sure what time in april

  • so no laptops will work

  • Hi, i was wondering if you could help me. from 2:24, that piece, the capture card itself,do i have to put it inside my laptop? other capture cards i've seen are usb ect.. I've never had a capture card before and don't want too much hassle, this looks just that from your other videos but this may put a spanner in the works :( just give me as many details as you can, thanks =>

  • No this does not work with laptops.

only with pci-e slots found in desktops

  • your vids are really helpful. i bought the avermedia myself and i tried to record some footage of my xbox 360 which i linked right into my pc via hdmi cable. the strange thing is that when i start the recording there are kind of disturbances. however i can see the xbox 360 game image on the pc. my system is windows 7 with 64bit. do i have the wrong drivers installed? is it a cable problem? can't find relevant answers in the internet...

  • not sure

    what kind of disturbances?

make sure your cpu video drivers are up to date.

  • @drawinkpaper live stream with the avermedia software and use fraps to record it is way better

  • thanks for the help. i managed to get the tv card running and i even figured out how to record footage from my wii.

this avermedia card rules. so thank you niaz14 and keep up the good work kstyles662! :)

  • thanks man. this helped alot in choosing which capture card. and your other videos about it are great and really helpfull. cheers m8. YOU ROCK!

  • If you want to watch on your monitor AND your TV just get a REAL video card. I personally recommend the Nvidia 200 series. Yet if you have the Nvidia high end cards, why use a game deck?

  • so wait it doesnt play on PC and 360? just on the comp?

  • yes you can if you get a hdmi splitter

  • so there's basically no way i can watch my game on my t.v. while recording on my computer

  • yes there is,I play on my tv while i record on my cpu

    HDMI splitter $9 ebay

  • So basically, it has two HDMI inputs, so I can put HDMI to PS3 and HDMI to TV to see it on my computer AND on the TV at the same time? Does that work?

  • NO, one input is hdmi the other input is for the dongle cable that is included that does component, composite and svideo, the dongle connects to the other hdmi input

    no output on this card

  • @kstyles662 Hmmm. Ok.

  • did you try using this without a splitter? if so, is there any lag? if not, what HDMI splitter did you get?

  • yes it works fine for just playing not really any lag at all until you hit record then its alot of lag.

so that why i got the splitter. i just got a basic corded splitter off ebay for about $9 shipped

  • Awesome, thanks. Any other flaws you can point out about this? I've seen some bad reviews on it and I just want to make sure they're not true. Judging by your other videos, it seems like a pretty solid card though.

  • yeah nice card and my gameplay videos are only captured in 720x480 resolution, the card will do 1280x720 and 1920x1080 as well

  • @PS360HD

    Sorry man, Cant afford that

  • if i buy this, and get another hdmi cable and an hdmi splitter, would i be able to watch on my tv at the same time i was capturing. i ask because i didn't know there was no hdmi output.

  • Yes you can. That is the exact same setup i have.

    PLEASE SUBSCRIBE

  • thanks man, i subscribed. is there any lag on the tv when you do this or is it ok?

  • No lag on tv at all, because with the splitter you just play on tv as normal

  • Great video review of the card. I was looking for part two that shows installation and how the included capture software works and looks, but could not find it.

  • i actually am going to send this card back, not because its not good. I got a better computer and my new computer doesnt have an open pci-e slot so i have to go with the hauppauge.

but give me a day or so and ill post it anyway

    if you subscribe.

  • @kstyles662

If you do not mind me asking, what things about it did you not like?

  • i liked it alot to be honest just will not work with my new computer. There was nothing that i did not like.

  • you can always send it my way =)

  • Looks pretty nice, a solid cheaper option compared to mine.
