This doesn't seem to be a fair statement. There's nothing inherent in atheistic 'philosophy' that entails 'mass murder.' It lacks the imperative that might be otherwise present in theistic thought (i.e., A godless universe lacks authoritarian dictates, but a universe with a god, a great-panjandrum, sky-sheriff, cosmic bigwig will always be subject to His/Her decrees.) If God tells you to lay waste to Canaan or Jericho, what do you do? God is right, no matter what.

It'd be quite easy to show from Mein Kampf that Hitler was theist, to boot. Sure, you have Pol Pot, Mussolini, Stalin, etc., but the crusades, the inquisition, the current struggle in the Middle East all reflect a consequence of certain kinds of theistic belief. Your use of the modifier 'worst' is telling, knowing quite well that mass-murder is perpetrated by atheists and theists, alike.

Seeing this reminds me of the first time I encountered Indian spirituality, which was through Isha Yoga. Amazingly, Sadhguru has now even now even offered a free practice available to all at "ishakriya" which if you're curious about it, you can of course find through your search engine or you can just go to the website by that name. This yoga's made a hugely positive impact in my life (and my wife's too), so I'm grateful to the profound guru who designed this and also to the Adi Yogi himself!

yesterday I read some wikipedia-stuff about shivaism and I have to say that I kinda began to understand that monotheism (shivaism, vishnuism and is it rama are actually quite similar to the concept of god-father, son, holy ghost) was ectually invented by ancient Hindus and ancient Jews. Also the avatars are like the prophets in the old testament. Plus...if you think about Jesus...He was like an avatar of God-father because he was human but strange enough also the Son of God meaning Godlike.

They should add some of that when they make another Lord of the Rings movie ... but the Shiva character should be slightly changed. I remember, there used to be a blue version of He-Man in the Masters of the Universe toys, something along that line. Perhaps have him ride on Ganesha, as a wild battle-elephant or something, that would make helluva cartoon!
