I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree!

yeah..he probably would have said they were to "flashy", in a sense, they were the opposite of what every english car was which was stately, black or dark brown or grey with a small "sensible" engine. the Jaguar is so english though but the wilder side. his favorite choice of car, though he never owned one, was a Rover 3500 P6, which basically had a buick engine in it did'nt it! and how he would have hated that!!
well to be fair theyre not that bad once your inside, but i havent gotten into a pre 70's jag yet that hasn't tried to break my leg as i get in it! and you have to have the feet of a small child to prevent pressing all three pedals at the same time! but again to be fair it was much better once i changed into some shoes, but still could have done with putting on even thinner shoes!
the sound is un-rivaled out of any car i've driven so far!
Every jaguar XKE I've been was perfect at high speed. You could barely feel the road and its annoying bumps. And yes this car did handle.
Yes it was sort of hard to steer while turning corners but their isn't any car that could keep up with it at 120mph. (Since the the body would lower at high speeds.) Although that can't be said for the coupes. Roadsters drove differently then the coupe. Now I don't know how big you are but the xke's had ALOT of leg room. Theres a good 4 feet in length of L R
Jag straight-6, one of the greatest engine made and made for a very, very long time. I'd have a six cylinder Jag over a V12 Jag any day! The six made more power, revved higher, weighed less (but still heavy) and was way easier to work on. Long lives the old Jag six!
Very good, but please turn off car radio.

Way ahead of it's time and probably the best looking car ever made...but the built quality was questionable and they rusted very quickly.
Pity Mercedes didn't make them!
BillDFC 2 years ago
most old cars had rust problems, not just jags. mines been garaged its whole life, not a spot of rust.

agreed, the six was an overall better motor, but its hard to match the snarl of the 12 cylinder at full throttle.
