God, I miss Dirk so much! I wish him and DJ Lyfe would get together with some other people and make a new band together. Like Audioslave did, you know? Then they could play songs from Enjoy Incubus and SCIENCE at their shows too!!

It took me a long time to warm up to Ben and ACLOTM but with time I realized that consistently dwelling on Alex's departure just wasn't going to change anything. Ben got a hell of a lot better at playing the old school stuff live after a while too.

Not true at all, your bass player shouldn't be throwing down bass solos all the time, his job is to keep the rhythm and tempo. A Crow Left of the Murder is definitely their best and "most mature" work, so Incubus has become a better band since the addition of Kenney. Plus he also helps Brandon with the vocals

not to rain on your parade, but what a bass player should do is completely an opinion, and one which youre entitled to. I personally love alot more songs from the era with Dirk, but the influence Ben has had on the band hasn't been all negative. There is alot of good stuff he's brought to the table, especially with writing; remember, he is originally a guitar player, and then bass, keys, drums.. he's great guys. And, the vocals he adds. Better backing than Mikey imho. But imho INCUBUS > INCUBEN.

Good point, and I can't disagree with you. All I will say is I used to be a huge fan of Science (which I'm sure you know is the Dirk era), I also didn't really like ACLOTM and especially disliked Light Grenades. But if you honestly listen to both of those CDs, in their entirety, a couple times I think you will reverse that inequality.
