Nice analysis Don. Watching the election from the UK it amazed me how close the polls were for the two candidates. Obama seemed to completely outclass McCain and yet they were pretty much level pegging a lot of the time. Just one thing, 894/899 in the Naval Academy is by no means a bad thing. It's hard enough to even get in to the US Service Academies, and there's about a 25% attrition rate.

You mix genreal ability to survive most circumstances with the ability of a better chance of surviving in a spicific environment with a spicific thread. In some circumstances an multicell organism can survive while a bacteria would not. Besides Bacteria are very very advanced (and they weren't around in the time when multi cell oragnisms evolved) single cell organisms, if you take a less complex single cell organism it will fail much more times. that multiplies the bonus for multicel organims.

No doubt, nico, we need a drastic shift in our culture towards education. It isn't that we need to spend more money or that we need to buy updated books; what we need is for people to CARE.
Education, at present, is nothing more than a talking point. Educators and politicians are very much helpless as well... no matter how much more testing they enforce or how much they punish failing school districts, the true onus is really on the home and the way people treat knowledge on a DAY TO DAY basis.

For instance, it is a uniquely American concept that someone can "over-analyze" anything. If you are failing to understand something, it is NOT that you're over-analyzing it but rather that you're unfocused in your strategy to solve the problem.
Over-analysis is never the problem. Knowing the chemical constituents of chocolate does NOT diminish the experience of consuming it. We need to do away with these notions which discourage children from applying their minds to matters they care about.

During the 2000 race I was just old enough to get into politics. I remember the most respectable politicians of the time (to me) were McCain, and Colin Powell. Now McCain gradually has lost all respect for me over the last decade, while Powell's respect has only dipped when he was forced to sell the war in Iraq to the UN. The Bush White House has taken the GOP and destroyed it for me... I can not see voting for that party in its current form. America is a one party system to me at this point...

Until the Republican party is not a theocratic, evangelical party, I refuse to vote for them. John McCain could have redeemed himself in my and I believe much of America's eyes if he moved back to the middle for this election. He could of made it look like Obama was running the dirtier of the two campaigns. But as soon as he chose Sarah Palin I knew it was over there was no redemption... Politics is a very, very depressing necessity.

Only thing I have to add is that America needs Obama for it to be taken seriously again in the world.
I know no one likes to hear they have to vote for their president because others want them to, but in this case..
Especially since the US makes such a big deal of being the leader of the free world.
Fact: the product has been shit for decades, the commercials were good enough to keep up appearances untill Bush made the bottom fall out. Join the world or stay out of it.

I agree with every part of this video except for one, McCain doesn't necessarily appeal to the stupidest people in America, His supporters are stupid, but perhaps not the stupidest. A recent study was conducted in my area where black people were polled on their stance on different issues, they disagreed with Obama on almost every issue, but were voting for him anyway... I wonder why.

I think its quite pathetic how much republicans hang on the birth certificate issue. Why does it matter? Where your born ultimately makes no difference on you're ability to run a country.

Excellent point. I am all for a rational debate with intelligent people. I have only asked questions about Obama's associations that have not been answered. It seems as though some Obama supporters can not say why they support Obama.

You might want to realize that many associations that are "related" to Obama can just as equally be used on McCain. Frankly it's a weak association in many cases on both sides and is completely irrelevant. Why aren't you talking about actual issues like economic policies or something that actually matters?
