I think the user you are talking about his username is I think kjigmond. I've seen that hack. I do wish that the carnival record player wasnt butchered but still it was a cool hack he did. is there a way that I can see the mechanism of that doll up close like close up pics? does your camera have a macro mode for close ups? the players are only 10 bucks on e bay but still cool

this cam cant get that close but you can google pics of them

I don't think I have ever seen a tape with record grooves must be pretty cool. I went on google images and found 1 pic on flickr of the mechanism and I think I saw little ridges on the tape those must be what makes the sounds. I had a ninja turtle that had a similar mechanism but it had varying ridges on red tape that u pull thru the shell and it made sounds the shell had the diaphram.
