  • are they pronouncing it right? or is their intonation correct? specially the parts:

    no te hollarán jamás and

    En tu azul cielo. =)

  • Spanish used to be the language of the educated Filipinos way back but its been tabooed to preserve our pride... now we infused english to form our own "taglish"... do we really have pride?

  • @ungas2585 Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. : )

  • although i'm a filipina, i really wish everyone just accepted that without this wonderful language nothing that we enjoy today would've been possible... speaking it doesn't mean that we favor the Spanish language over the Filipino one, it just means that we accept our heritage... VIVAS LAS FILIPINAS !

  • @cmxie24 VIVAN* LAS FILIPINAS

  • @Popodelades Oh. My bad. My keyboard isn't working again. XD But you guys get the point. XD

  • the language that was used by Jose Palma when he wrote the poem FILIPINAS was Spanish and the words of that poem became the lyrics for the music by Julian Felipe and thus the Philippine National Anthem was born though it's original title is HIMNO NACIONAL DE FILIPINAS....

  • bring back spanish language and be one of the countries who can speak three languages and can portray their culture and history through their language,,.. :)

  • Please drop the american accent/slang while singing Spanish. Hindi ganyan kumanta mga Español/Latinos. I appreciate that you guys translated and sang our national anthem but if you will sing in Spanish, sing it using the proper way of pronouncing Spanish words.

  • i can speak and understand spanish heheh!

  • Nice job. Ummm, the pronunciation needs a little work. There needs to be more distinction between "u" and "o" and between "e" and "i". Consonants could a little softer. Anyway, nice job! Bravo!

  • Bravo!!! Felicitaciones hermanos Filipinos!

  • Experience True FULL HD (as endorsed by youtube) of GMA 7's Lupang Hinirang. Please visit my channel.

  • Thank God your government is making some efforts in such matter... English is sooo plain, so lame... so impersonal. And you don't wan't to be like, let's say, Australia or Canada, isn't it? I don't know, but every British colony seems without a real life... And an American colony, well! We won't say it... Yours is a nice country, really. Don't make just an American backyard of it, please!

Adiós y se cuidan, filipinitos! :)

  • Vivan las Filipinas, hijas de España! Hijas del sol de oriente.... (Alumnos del Instituto Cervantes, lo cual es "in"... and English is "out") Ojalá, aprendan español, sus raíces... y mejor aprendánlo YA, como les digo a mis alumnos... In 10 or 15 years, USA will be a LATINO COUNTRY (fuck anglosaxons, fuck puritans! Es lebe das Katholisismus.... Der Papts hat das gesagt! " Verbus Dei, Verbus Mundi")

  • Niza entregas. Cheers. :)

  • hey tnx for making that vid it was more helpful than others so still tnx :)

  • This is the original lyrics which is then translated to English (American Occupation) then into Tagalog a lingua franca here since we have many language here.

  • The original lenguage and name of this anthem is TIERRA ADORADA, en español.

  • I agree with you viktoruschka! And I'm glad that the President Gloria M. Arroyo ordered the Dept. of Education to include in the curriculum for the school year 2010-2011 the SPANISH language in all PUBLIC and PRIVATE schools all over the Philippines.

  • @kenecio She definitely did a great job... I'm so glad that she received that prize in Spain. She deserved it... Tagalog is cool, but almost 300 years of influence have to shape a country. And btw, yours is te most welcoming of all Asia, in my opinion...

  • jaajjaj que gracioso tu acento

  • FIRST NAME OF THE PHILIPPINES

1.island of pearl ( dont know the exact words)

    2. Archipelago of saint lazaru

    3. las islas filipinas

dah what ever!!!!!!! i love philippines! in filipino MAHAL KO ANG PILIPINAS!

  • me gusta esta cancion!

muchas gracias por cantarla en espanol!

  • VIVA FILIPINAS HISPANA ¡

  • the original filipino anthem was wrote in spanish

  • :O really? didn't know that :P

  • even our english accent is funny :)

  • estais colgados

  • This is not the proper way of singing the Spanish version. One thing, they keep on adding syllables not originally on the song. The pronunciation, too and others.

Basta. Hindi ito tama. Sounds more of 'for the sake of singing lang. Sorry.

  • That is a original song!!!

  • i knew that according to the R.A. 8491 (the flag and heraldic code of the Philippines) that the Philippine national anthem shall always be sung in the national language of the Philippines in or out of the Philippines.

you may not know this, but you are making fun of our national anthem.

  • they are not actually making fun of our national anthem they just show that they care and that they are amazed of julian felipe.proud to be pinoy...

  • @ronispogi agreed .

  • @JCaguin

Well... "beaner" countries as Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Spain have better economy than Phillipines... and speak spanish... not tagalog... so... I don't think language have much importance on the economically situation of each country but their policy do.

  • i hope that someday soon the spanish version of philippines national anthem will gonna be sing in the ring...representing the philippines..

actually "lupang hinirang" was written originally in spanish language

my sisters in era 80's had the spanish subjets in their curiculum...how i wish spanish will gonne be imposed again here in the philippines

    viva las islas filipinas!!!!!!!

  • This is the Jose Palma original anthem, but... we are filipinos?

  • este la version original de nuestro Hymno nacional... also spanish is the original official language of the philippines, ito rin ang lenguahe ng rebolusyon... sin lengua hispano sin libertad...

  • i wouldn't mind if the philippines bring back spanish classes in their schools, that would be awesome, 3 official language, TAGALOG, ENGLISH and SPANISH

  • @sk8pirata

I would recomend Spanish as lingua franca & english as third language (or viceversa) cuz it's not fair that tagalog speakers have advantage over non tagalog(by example, cebuano) ones (cuz they would have to learn four languages).

    :)

  • thx, i had spanish classes but not enough if i want to be fluent

  • @luisdiego29

The Original Version of the Philippine National Anthem is really and actually in Spanish, not in Tagalog, not English nor in other Philippine Languages.

  • It is wonderful to listen to the National Anthem of The Philippines in the version in Spanish, interpreted by Filipinos, certainly they are our brothers to another side of the Pacific Ocean, regards from Costa Rica in the Central America.

  • VIVA FILIPINA!

  • pretty soon, next year, spanish will be an official language of the Philippines once again!

    bwena swerte,

    Dená

    ahihihihhihih

  • Your Spanish is quite "Asian", but I love when you sing your anthem in Spanish, the language that you had since you were a colony of Spain, like my country. PLEASE, PLEASE, FILIPINOS, speak some Spanish! It's your real inheritance... You're more "occidental" than every Asian country, don't fuck it up with English language, the absolute notorious mark of colonialism...

Nosotros somos hispanicos.

  • @viktoruschka our department of education is reinstating spanish now... im studying spanish right now...

  • @gwapakho I hope they go on with the project... As I said, tagalog is quite nice, but you can't just erase 300 years of Spanish language, which is lately a definite "lingua franca"... English will soon be out. Even in USA, I've heard more Spanish than English, so, be prepared :)

  • @viktoruschka try some chavacanos in zamboanga del norte...they're only spanish-province in the philippines, but i heard their spanish is quite different from the Spanish....search CHAVACANO and you see.....

  • @viktoruschka Hell no, our real inheritance is tagalog, not what the spaniards gave us thats shit. OLD TAGALOG>spanish induced tagalog

  • @viktoruschka haha. But we suffered under the Spanish colony for 3 centuries, so you have to understand why we didn't really warm up to the language. Oh, and before, I think it was forbidden for Filipinos or "Indios" as the Spaniards called us, to speak Spanish. I'm from Zamboanga and we speak broken spanish there. It kinda evolved and got mixed with other languages from our country.

  • @viktoruschka lo siento señor, el norte americanos robados nuestras conocidos idioma español. they imposed their language and let us forgot about spanish. but there is still one city in the philippines who can speak spanish. this is Zamboanga City. they call themselve el chiavacanos. otra vez, lo seinto mi español, es muy malo, es muy un poco.

  • @viktoruschka im filipino and i speak spanish. when i speak spanish in the phil, other ppl think im being arrogant and call me a "coño". i do believe that filipinas should speak castellano again. what country r u from btw?

  • @acousticLU Hombre, pues no hagas caso!

  • @viktoruschka i speak spanish

  • muy bien!! X)

  • Muy bien!!!

  • Question: SIno and Presendente ng Pilipinas and hindi nakakatawa?

Answer: Eh di si Corny Aquino! hahahahaha!

  • Se escucha bastante bien!

  • ok those who says that the accent is bad.. can you make another video of Philippine National anthem Spanish version? because this is the only vid.. and the tone is there.. thank you..

  • What an accent

    duh

  • Very Good,excelente,os felicito.

  • hey, please correct the accent s

amores (not amorés), ofenden (not oféndén), and a lot more. thanks. Just my take cause those who speak spanisn really findsit funny with the wrong accents.

  • Hahaha! Their accent really is funny. LOL

  • one of the objectives of the charter change is to amend the national language. it would be english and spanish and im sure visayas and mindanao they prepared english or spanish i dont know in luzon they can still sing the national anthem lupang hinarang.

  • Or better yet, we can do ayaw with this fallacious "national language." We're a multilingual country, and having one language to represent the identity of our peoples is a grave injustice. Besides, most countries don't have a national language yet they have a better sense and appreciation of identity than we do.

  • lyrics are beautiful,but the rendition,pronunciation,diction is terrible.absolutely terrible..

kahit ampanetpanet..ayus na..atlis my napakinggan akong sampol..

mabuhay ang mga tambay sa bansa...

  • lol

  • well, though sad to hear this but its true..

  • good singing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it !!!!!!!!!

  • That's the huge difference between Latinamerican and European dialects. Spain has preserved the LY sound while in America, it has evoled to a pure Y. Personally, I prefer the European pronunciation, but we're also taught, at Instituto Cervantes, that both are just as acceptable.

  • Yo tambien! :)

  • Effort's not enough. I'd give them a C for that.

  • They're singing it all wrong. But it's a good try. Long live Hispanic Philippines! =)

  • nice very nice

  • but still, spanish is part of our culture. actually i want to learn how 2 speak spanish although i have no plans about travelling 2 spain sumday, but it is part of our culture.

  • go to america, spanish classes are taught there in most schools (high school or college [although you have the right to choose which classes you pick in college, I think..])

I'm still in high school and I'm new to the whole US high school system thing so this is just based on opinion.

  • Join the SpanishFilipino Group in YahooGroups. Spanish was an official language of the Philippines until 1973.

  • It's not that simple. As one can very well see, all over the internet, YouTube and the world Filipinos do not agree with each other very well. Somebody has something to disagree on.

  • I'm pinoy and speak Spanish, but I have to disagree with you. By definition, Filipinos are NOT Hispanic because they don't speak the Spanish language.

Filipinos are considered Asian in a country where Spanish was once spoken by the Spanish aristocrats.

When the British colonized India, the Indians weren't considered Anglos were they?

  • This debate will go on and on and will not be solved on YouTube. It continues in the Philippines, in the US and worldwide. We are what we are whoever considers us what and whatever we consider ourselves. The Anglo British experience was different from the Philippine-Spanish. Why debate the minute details? Viva las Filipinas!

  • @behanchot

Hispanic is not just language, but culturally...

Mostly filipinos are catholic, are indians protestant?

  • good job

  • Viva Tierra Adorada ¡ ....cantan muy bien

  • POR EL ESPAÑOL OFICIAL EN FILIPINAS.

  • This is how the old filipino's spoke spanish! :)

my great grandmother speaks like this..

[i reached her when she was 91 years old she died 1997]

And when spanish was still in the curriculum

  • my grand pa died at age 97 in dec 25, 2008, he also spoke in spanish, he was born in the philippines.

  • nice!

  • spanish with filipino accent, beautiul!

  • it's kinda the same accent

  • yah..

  • ...i'll give u an A for trying..^__^..

..but try to polish ur pronounciation..

  • mga nene at toto,

nice try pero your pronunciation the spanish words in these hymn is way-way off line. it shows that you were not bable to take spanish lessons.

  • ok. first things first. not everyone knows how to speak spanish. also, everyone has its own accents and pronunciations. we can't blame them. they are actually good for they can sing it in spanish. i mean, the generation today in the philippines is not familiar of the spanish version... they get a deserved credit for this.

  • The original title is "Patria Adorada"

  • hola! check out "chavacano." A dialect used in Zamboanga, Philippines. It's kinda spanish but not at all :)the words used are old words from spain.

  • aluminum,amores,gloria

  • Kapatid, mali ang pagkakaawit mo. Mali ang pronunciation mo.

  • Español compared to tagalog is easy I studied tagalog

  • that is because tagalog has so many spanish loanwords :D

  • Thousands, man. We loaned Castillian words by the bucketload.

  • WOW! Absolutely beautiful! *clap* clap* *clap*

I remember back then when I was still in elementary school we sing our National Anthem in Tagalog and... in English? Never in Spanish. What the heck! Why not in Spanish also? Now I'm asking.

  • wow...first time i heard a spanish version of lupang hinirang...

  • great2!!

  • q guaai :)

    hahah m gusta:D

  • Cool...i know how to sing this song too. my mom thought me how. coz i also really wanted to ;) she knew this song back when she was in high school... and until now shes 53 yet she sing this song sooo perfectly =) and i too.lol

sometimes at school when ive nothing to do i use to sing this song and never thought that my classmates&teachers are listening to me. and they were all grinning after i sing it :D they cant believe that i know how to sing this song in spanish version ;) Thanks to you mom.

  • *taught

  • PERFECT!!!

  • and so stupid to claim that Hispanics only refer to mestizos, descendants of spanish settlers.. hahaah.. so the people of dominican republic are not hispanics? The mexicans of filipino descent in Guerrero aren't hispanics? hahaha..

  • And as for "slanted eyes, brown skin, and flat nose," I know many "Hispanics" from Latin America who also fit in that category. And actually... most Filipinos i know dont have slanted eyes. those who do probably have chinese ancestry.

And dont forget that Hispanic is an ethnicity (culture), not a race. You can be black, white, or "asian" and still be Hispanic. Just look at Celia Cruz and Christina Aguilera.

  • i agree.

  • Yes, pnoiraider, Pinkshade is so stupid to claim that all Filipinos have brown skin and chinky eyes.. stupid! hahaha...

  • i'm filipino, i don't consider myself hispanic by any means. i disagree with the notion that filipinos are hispanics. I think you are confusing the hispanic culture with the hispanic race, two completely different terms. We, filipinos, certainly retain the hispanic culture but no way hispanic. Hispanics, exclusively refer to the people of the Americas. People in Spain is not referred to as Hispanics, they are called Spaniards. And to people quoting wikipedia, it is stupid.

  • You obviously don't understand that "Hispanic" is NOT a race. Its a culture, which supports my argument that Filipinos can be considered Hispanic too. People from Spain are Hispanic too. There is no Hispanic RACE. "Hispanic" people of the Americas are of a mixture indigenous (indian), European, and African ancestry = white, black, and brown. Mexicans are brown, Dominicans are black, and Argentinians are white (by majority). A more appropriate and exclusive term for Latin Americans is "Latino."

  • You better hit your college books caused you dont know what youre talking about. The original classification in the American census and still being used today for people in the Americas is Hispanic not Latino. You do not fill out Hispanic/Latino to classify yourself, you put Asian or Pacific Islander. Therefore, Filipinos are not hispanic people. By the way, brown is not a race. haha. Blame the white folks who made race up (race is a social construct and its more than just the color of skin).

  • First of all, I never said "brown" was a race. I brought up colors to show that people from different Latin American countries are not all the same. The races I referred to were the European, African, and American Indian races. Second, you are following the U.S. Government's interpretation of "race" which I believe is flawed. Also, the U.S. Government considers "Hispanic" as an ethnicity, not a race, which is why the categories include: Non-Hispanic White, Non-Hispanic Black, and Hispanic.

  • The U.S. Government is also reformatting these categories for the 2010 Census next year. My main point is that someone can be of ANY race, and still also be considered Hispanic. That is because (I'll say it again) HISPANIC IS NOT A RACE. I am in no way saying that Filipinos are not Asian. And yes, I also agree that race is a social construct, but you're the one who brought up "the Hispanic race" which does not even exist according to "white folk's" terms.

  • I believe that the use of the term "Hispanic" is an attempt by the U.S. Government to group together the people of Latin America because their rich cultural diversity is too complicated for them to be categorized in one group. They are only able to do this for one reason: they all speak Spanish. If this is the case, then the definition of the colloquial term "Hispanic" should be changed just to "One who speaks Spanish" because all the other descriptions can describe Filipinos too.

  • Lastly, all of my ideas and arguments have been formed and are based from "college books" and many other sources so please don't mock my knowledge again. RUDE.

  • Haha. Again, race is a social construct so you just cant change the fact that Hispanic is classified as a race. Ethnicity, by the way is a more specific term such as being Filipino, Indian, or an Arab. I want to go back to the original argument of yours in which you say that Filipinos are Hispanic. To be considered Hispanic, the commonality with Hispanic culture and traditions must be present for us to be classified as Hispanic. I just dont see with Filipinos.
