Firstly, the style is obviously that of a later era. Everyone who has had some musical training can hear that the melody, harmony and structure belong to a time around 1800, not 1750. They are unlike all of Frederick's compositions.
The earliest copy we have of this march dates from 1795. It's very unlikely that it was written before 1790.

So it is mad to say that the Germans never won a single battle against the Russian; besides since 1955, considering the high number of Russian dead of WW2m it was the Russian foreign Minister at Geneva, who said that Reunification of Germany was something that Russia or Soviet Union, call it as you want, and the soviet people could ever accept after all those mournings; The winner tha fears the defeated; it's strange isn't it????

@BasileusR Frankreich (France), Österreich (Austria), Königreich (kingdom). I'm pretty sure Reich and Empire are fairly different. Reich has that meaning nowadays, but I'd say it's original meaning is closer to 'realm'.

@happysack1 And it is one of the most underrated of Stanley Kubrick's films. But then the man didn't care much about what the critics thought. He just made the films he wanted to make, and he knew they were masterpieces. Even the final one, Eyes Wide Shut, is great.
