whta I meant is that when you are in the key of A for example , A is the I and D is IV and E is V (alphabetical order:ABCDE)

if you are going from the V to the I (E to A) , it sound "cool"to play E on the bass (left hand) and D major chord on the right hand creating a IV over V

let me know if you didnt understand it.
