@chemoi26 when that interview was done, it was very early on in his career ... and being a very private and introverted guy, he probably wasn't prepared to talk about it right then and there at that moment. He has since opened up in interviews and said he is proud of his Filipino heritage, at one of the CY Young press conference. So don't be so judgemental cause you have no idea about his private life. Who are u to judge him anyway.

it's really understable if tim "doesn't know where his roots are from" because,i think,he never really had the chance to,you know,embrace his being filipino.his grandpa asis,though pure-blooded pinoy,was born [and grew up] in hawaii.his grandmom was born [and grew up] in california,& so his mom,rebecca.so we may never know if he was raised the filipino way knowing that his maternal roots were not raised in that way also.

but in one of his youtube vids,he acknowledged naman his being pinoy.. :)

I still remember the first time i saw him...i was at a giants game three years ago taking pics with Lou Seal, and what i didn't realize is that Tim Lincecum was warming up right behind me and my friends. I turned around, and that's when i fell in love. I remember seeing the number 55 and i loved how, unlike a lot of other baseball players, he was wearing his pants up to his knees. Ever since that game, i realized he was going to become HUGE because of how awesome he is! He is phenomenal!

Wins are absolutely irrelevant when discussing a pitcher's value. I get that they credit pitchers with wins and losses, and it is absolute nonsense. ERA and Ks on the other hand are good measures of a pitcher's value and Lincecum outperformed Wainwright in both categories.
