  • Tip 1: You can also create a square "bounding" box around your subject before creating your UV Map. Then just delete the box after the fact. Easier than doing math and typing in fields. :)

    Tip 3: Try out MagicBevel, part of standard Lightwave.. It can auto-taper for you.

  • Yes, I know about the bounding box trick but you still need to make sure that the bounding box is 'square'. This means that you still need to do some work. My tech is not rocket science. It's just copying and pasting one value.

    Also, I know about magic bevel. While a great tool, it doesn't always give you the control you want. My technique gives you more control. Plus it's an alternative to those who might prefer working this way.
