But guys, you can tell they must sound pretty damn good if you compare this to other videos of speakers. Yes, I know about the microphone, but this is pretty dang good...
Saludos!
Why the fuck do people think that they can tell someone who obviously put alot of research into their system how it fucking sounds off of Youtube?! If you're such a sonic genious, then why the fuck can't you understand that their camera's/microphones color the sound, and then after Youtube's finished pushing the sound through a meat grinder when it comes to compressing the audio will make it sound different? Not to say what speakers/cans you're playing it through?
Exactly, the best way to get it straight would be to put a flat response condenser microphone near the optimal listening position in a cardioid pattern towards the speakers, to perhaps get the most accurate reproduction of sound. But it's probably not worth it since youtube destroys the quality anyway. Then to get atleast a video camera with 1080p abilities, so then you can take advantage of youtubes slightly higher bitrates of 160kbps~ AAC.
After that you'd have to be listening to a flat studio setup when watching the uploaded video. I bet most of these guys are listening to this video with logitech speakers thinking, "Hmmm the timbre in the so and so" when their speakers can't reproduce shit!
@sunsetsniper You know why ? Because they have recorded their own systems with a digital camera and realized that you can tell alot from that. It is audible where the speakers fail even through the microphone distortion. Try it with two different systems at home. You will hear how the camera will allow you to compare them. Then use a different camera to do the same. Notice how it didn't make much of a difference in allowing you to hear the speaker qualities.
@sunsetsniper Yes its processed but you can hear the overall character of the system, helps narrow down the search for stuff to audition, ive saved a packet from buying without auditioning it first,or lots of hassle by avoiding equipment i know wont suit me. Thanks to the people like this for uploading.e.g all the Gyrodek uploads have given an impression of this turntable, one to audition at my local dealr, help save me from flushing £1000 after blindly folowing 3rd party reviews.
Acoustic treaments (bass traps in the corners and absorbers on the primary reflection points) would improve your room's sound quality, no doubt about it at all

sounds amazing, what artists do you play through these speakers? im more urban so i listen to alot of underground and mainstream music, but this sort of music sounds very soothing specially with good quality speakers, whats some more artists for this type of music? i like it.
I don't think many people realize the difference between quality equipment and LOUD equipment. the owner is listening to what they like to listen too. sorry but your favorite Gucci Mane would be wasted on such great speakers.
VA's are designed to produce warm, accurate, quality portrayals of the recording. ANALOG. they are not meant to (tho they will accurately as well) boom boom boom some digital looped nonsense.
You have an amazing system there. congratulations, it even sounds awsome on utub
@raymondleeleggs you would be impressed at how it's not only loud, but insanely clear as long as you listen to it flat. if you try and force the bass to out compete every other tone then you would loose the all around feel of VA's.
beauty in VA's is their ability to reproduce every nuance in music, best exemplified with classical. but My good friend has the VA Beethovens on his livingroom and they rock everything from his wifes poppy crap to rap, metal, and they are GREAT on Call of Duty
i would like to past a FLAC audio player through a mcintosh amp and using B&w speakers, this will be only an add-on to a marantz turntable and a cambridge cd player thats already in use. sorry replys are back to front :) ran out of characters.
First off, nice setup. Can you tell me if you have used or heard any amps that use FLAC lossless audio codec? being the electronic age and also knowing that systems such as yours sound true and clear i would still like to use digital files as music, these FLAC files are sometimes rated better then cd quality but of course need a player to suit even a tube item is avalible now.
There is some "human" aspect that only EL34 tubes family (EL84 too) can reproduce. I like the McIntosh non distorced sound with that KT88 and 6550 amps. But they can not reproduce this "human" aspect. By the way, do you prefer SET than PP or UL?
I'm wondering, if I get 2 12 inch kenwood subs in a custom dual 12 inch box with a 4000 watt 2 channel lanzar amp, and a 4 gauge boss audio kit, IS THIS ALL I NEED TO RUN IT OFF MY COMPUTER? If its not, what else would i need to make this run off of my computer with good volume in my room. Thank you
@MySoulForHisGlory What would you prefer? I would love to know? F'ing Nickleback back or something? or maybe some other mainstream BS? Lil Wayne?! I think this was a perfect choice and it's not even my type of music. It was very well recorded with dynamics as well as audiophile playback quality in mind: not like most of the music that comes out today where the only thing in mind is being as loud as possible or how it sounds in the club. He/She took the time to post this, why put them down?
AMAZING! AMAZING QUALITY! Even through my crappy laptop speakers (real equipment on the way soon hopefully) and compressed youtubeness you can tell that this is an amazing set-up.
Very balanced and open. Superb texture. These speakers seem to have the same overall sound as my ATC SCM35s, which are the best I have ever heard. Good job making a synergistic system.
omg, what a quality!! what turntable is that? sorry for asking, i came up with an idea that i want a turntable/record player like half an hour ago, and accidentally found your video :)
p.s. can anyone suggest a good quality turntable with a reasonable price (i'm a student)? thanks in advance!
@skubidubiduya : buy a dual 731q and make a new (heavy) chassis (is that the right word?). Put in an Audio Technica 33ptg and some good cables and you're well away.
While I don't have a set up like that, I've had problems with Norah Jones vinyl being noisy. After the latest one was so bad, I ordered a UK copy, hoping for better QC. Wouldn't you know, it was a US "import" that I ended up paying to ship back across the Atlantic. Fortunately it didn't share the "rice krispies" with that my first copy had.
rolfruit, out of curiosity what type and gauge of speaker wire are you using? That wire looks mighty chunky in the video. Also, are those speaker being bi-wired or bi-amped in any way? Is the price quoted for the speakers for a single or paired package of them?
Other than that, those are some of the cleanest sounding speakers on all of youtube.
Your mike(s) and recording device are also nice. This is just about as good as YouTube gets. i listen to YouTube on Koss Porta Pros. Not expensive but very solid cans. The Porta Pros are definitly better than You Tube/iMac can reproduce.
she's a beauty haha very nice setup and some good speakers mine look hanging compared because of the previous owner did not appreciate how good B&W DM580's were not quite those standard of build but the sound ive had out of them can make you weak. @Crush777
come on skip this type of comments, pls! Its not about the speakers, or youtube quality, it's all about the music you are listening to. And this type of music calls "acoustic music". That's what makes the speakers sound goo. Nevertheless I'm not saying these speakers are not good, it's just that this kind of music sounds good on almost any speaker
