@jsledge85 hes not even dead yet, and what does that have to do with anyhting how is it any more of a deterrent than an h bomb or an a bomb?? i think the whole purpose of it was to beable to kill people but leave the building standing, but why bother leaving the buildings there is they will be so contaminated by fallout that you cant live there anyways? im not sure if it does leave radiation behind though or if it does if it is less severe than that left by a more conventional nuke

Neutron radiation doesn't reach very far. Soft targets like unprotected humans are definitely not safe from heat and blast in the target zone; so a 1 kT neutron bomb is going to do about as much damage as a 1 kT conventional nuke. But a 1 kT airburst above a tank column would do fuck-all to them; that's what the neutrons are for, to kill the tank crew and make the tanks to radioactive to use for days.

Yes he was brilliant but very misguided if he thought the use of NBs in a major conflict would reduce the chances of a nuclear war. To the generals in Moscow news that  :America 'has gone nuclear' would be enough. They would not wait to find out what sort of bomb lit up the skies ubove their troops in Germany.

I find it fascinating how HONEST this guys is! He says violence has ALWAYS been used as a means to and end. And that the U.S. has been notorious for using violence even when it wasn't really necessary. Cohen has a VERY realistic world view. It isn't pretty or happy, but it's realistic. That sissy of an interviewer made me really glad that he's not in charge of ANYTHING national security related!

It turns out that invading soviet tank columns are very insensitive to heat and blast; but their crews are vulnerable to neutron radiation.

Instead of multimegaton devices that cause massive heat and blast damage outside of the target zone and rain fallout on half of Europe, you can destroy tank columns with these tiny 1 kT thermonuclear bombs that are transparent to neutrons and have negligible fallout.
