What in the frack did it copy from robo tech. Robo tech is cool and all but the cylons raiders didn't transform, and same goes for the human vipers turning into giant death robots. When the last episode of BSG ends its really gonna be one of the saddest days of my life. I watched the show through good times, and bad in my life and the show was always there to help take my mind off everything and to just help me get away from life for awhile. Greatest show on television...hands down.
I like this BSG cause i can go to my local walmart,kmart,target, and gun store and have just about every thing they have. I actually have one of the pistols they use. Which is pretty neat, that its a space man gun. Acvtually nothing in BSG is all that out of the daily life of most here on earth, but you think they wouldnt smoke on a sealed ship. It is an allegory on the war on terrorism; but given that the Cylons' motive was religious and that the Colonists have parallels to American society (i.e. a nation torn apart, the recitement of L. Johnson after the assassination of JFK, and the "sleeper cells"), your associations should be reversed.
Nah, in that particular episode, the Cylons were the Americans (Superior forces with troops roaming the street and air power) while the Humans were the Iraqis (Resorting to Suicide Bombings, raids etc).
I think BSG has been great and I've enjoyed every episode, even the slower ones and I have connected with different characters at different times throughout the past 3 seasons.
BUT....lets remember, its called 'Science-fiction' so why fight over who looks like what or salutes like how or make refernces to whatever? Its TV! Relax! :D
I really like Battlestar Galactica but how this show made it 4 seasons is beyond me. They should have ran off from the old version. For those that served in the military can see how bogus this show is. For example: The Vipers and the uniforms they wear have insignias shaped exactly like the Airforce. Then they use terminology from the Navy and the saluting like the military? whats up with that? Their from a different Galaxy.

Do you have a catch all definition of Sci-Fi? Because I've done an entire module on it for part of my degree and I can tell you now, there isn't one. English literature professors can't find a specific defintion of Sci-Fi, so how you know it I'm intrigued by.

One of my professors liked to say that H.G.Wells would write his Sci-Fi by starting off with one or two very outlandish ideas based on the "what if" paradigem (What if we could travel in time, what if aliens invaded etc...) and base everything around it ultra realistically. This seems to be the same. They have taken one or two outlandish ideas (FTL, rebelious robots, long lost human cousins) and...
made a brilliant series with it. This is not the same "lets be as weird as possible" SF of the past that we've sometimes gotton used to. Its a more structured affair, which gives a great many wonderous new avenues to explore, or indeed old avenues explored in new ways.
If you dont like it buddy piss off and watch something else! BSG is made for everyone to watch but if you dont like it, turn it off! Maybe your gay!!!!!!!!! piss off edwardstubbs you dick head!
I enjoyed them, although I didn't feel that they matched up to the first one more because of the plots in the first ones were much more classic archytypes, these ones were more artificial

Nope...Roslin...she has that black-out moment at the very end of season three which coincides with the entire fleet 'shutting down'..and has the visions of Hera - with two other cylons - Athena and Caprica 6...the fact she had cancer means nothing...after all, the cylons on one baseship died of a cold virus caused by rats....

Anyone not realise that all 4 of the final 5 were on New Caprica. We knew Tigh was captured. The other three could have been too or could have had a device planted in them while they were asleep. I do not believe they are really cylons, I think a twist is on the road ahead
It makes sense though because somewhere along the line they were kidnapped or abducted and replaced with a sleeper model because of their positions in society.
I think the undoing of this Cylon plan is that they made them TOO human, and that is going to backfire!
Has anyone ever considered that Billy could be the final cylon? It is a bit far fechted but he is quite odd in the miniseries he tells the president something like "It is only huma". And he kind of behaves like a child like he is still exploring this world. But it could be just me because im not that shore that this plot has been planned so from the begining.
Hopefully Baltar turns out to be a Cylon, is the only survivor, makes it to Earth and becomes the savior of the Jews 2,000 years ago. HELL! Look at him! He looks like the classic portrayal of Jesus.
interesting fact.. the final scene of Season 3 where it zooms out from Icarion and moves over to earth places the fleet in the Large Magellanic Cloud (satellite galaxy of the Milky Way) which branches off of the milky way. It zooms out of Icarion and focuses in on the Orion Arm region of the Milky Way, then to the solar system. :)

It's clear that the Cylons have no idea where Earth is, and they only colonized their own home world after the first Cylon war. Also, 12 is a religious number. There is definitely something supernatural going on - the entire series has been (more than) hinting at it. We've seen angels (in the form of Six), miracles (Kara returning), and other unexplainable phenomena. This story is religiously based to not make use of it with regards to the final five. Watch for more.
my idea is that there last cylon is a humen perhaps a totally grown humen from collected dna and only a cylon cos its lived with them that cylon being there leader perhaps a femialer face from old season (just a wild thought hehe)
One thing is for certain. Lots of people are never going to make it to Earth. Probably some of the main characters if I had to guess. I predict Admiral Adama and Laura Roslin will not live to see Earth, though the former will live long enough to know his flock is safe. As for the final five, I'm still not convinced that the four we think are cylons are really cylons at all. And I think there's something special about the final 5, like an ability to ignore their programming... and pick sides.

I think you can take anything gleaned from the hype and toss it - all the teasers and trailers, etc. because in the end, they don't matter, and the producers may not have control over them. Point is, what we think we "know" is suspect. My opinion about Tigh is not related to his belief system - Boomer hated cylons - it's that the cylons replaced him. That has not been their MO with ANY cylon agents so far. And the technology for them did not exist before Adama met Tigh. Something fishy.
The final humanoid cylon is ... Boxey! Yes, the little orphan boy from Caprica has been biding his time, waiting for the moment of his ascendency, and growing stronger! Just kidding, but this is about the only character that hasn't been posited as a possible final cylon.

God this looks so amazing!!! The story lines on this show are so surprising and amazing; you never foresee the twists they throw at you. I for one can't wait for this season. Starbuck was left several TRILLION light years behind, and was then turned into a fine red mist that was splattered all over the nebula. And apallo saw the ship go boom. Then she turns up just as the Cylon virus shuts down the fleet, in a brand new ship.
the producers have told Starbuck this so as an actor Kate will really think she is'nt going to turn in to a Cylon, so she would come across more convincing when its finally revealed that she is the final one.
Thats the way i would play it if she is going to be the one, but i really have no idea, i am really looking forward to the season 4.

I understand that, and if I were the producer I would do the same. I believe that making Starbuck a Cylon would be too easy for the producers to do. Lets face it this show has never taken an easy major plot decision. You can argue the One Year thing was, but that took bollocks and is actually the reason why the same thing happened on Doctor Who in series 3 (Russel T Davies said it in the podcast). If Starbuck is a Cylon she will be the first true hybrid, but I doubt she is a Cylon either way.
Starbuck isn't a Cylon. EW did a picture spread and the producer, I think it was Eick, said all people in the picture weren't Cylons. Starbuck was there.
So now we realize Cylon Chief Tyrol was gettin' hot and heavy w/ Cylon Sharon in the first season. I'm still not crazy about the "BG crew being the Final Five Cylon" plot line. Sounds like the writers took a wrong turn in a bad neighborhood of ideas.

I don't think he's the 13th cylon, but he might be the first hybrid. We don't know much about his mother, so she could be the last. Also, it makes sense that hybrids would be able to hear the transmissions. To me, at least.

- How can it be sparse and complicated. Sparse means theres very little. Complex means lots of diffrent interweavingness. Thats a contradiction
- Its supposed to be close to our reality, thats the point. Its gritty and realistic which makes it believable and good drama.
- If you watch it, you see tin men there also, they're called Centurions

Yeah very little and far from in between compared to the origional script (its not a contridiction looking at it that way) and complex meaning its into all that "who's a Cylon shit" Its not sci fi and if the writers of this new shit meant for it to be more like reality then it still proves my point that its shit. Besides, who wants to watch reality????? Thats the point of sci-fi, imagination!!!! Maybe this show should be aired on the family channel

Do you have a catch all definition of Sci-Fi? Because I've done an entire module on it for part of my degree and I can tell you now, there isn't one. English literature professors can't find a specific defintion of Sci-Fi, so how you know it I'm intrigued by.

Nope...Roslin...she has that black-out moment at the very end of season three which coincides with the entire fleet 'shutting down'..and has the visions of Hera - with two other cylons - Athena and Caprica 6...the fact she had cancer means nothing...after all, the cylons on one baseship died of a cold virus caused by rats....

Anyone not realise that all 4 of the final 5 were on New Caprica. We knew Tigh was captured. The other three could have been too or could have had a device planted in them while they were asleep. I do not believe they are really cylons, I think a twist is on the road ahead

Has anyone ever considered that Billy could be the final cylon? It is a bit far fechted but he is quite odd in the miniseries he tells the president something like "It is only huma". And he kind of behaves like a child like he is still exploring this world. But it could be just me because im not that shore that this plot has been planned so from the begining.

interesting fact.. the final scene of Season 3 where it zooms out from Icarion and moves over to earth places the fleet in the Large Magellanic Cloud (satellite galaxy of the Milky Way) which branches off of the milky way. It zooms out of Icarion and focuses in on the Orion Arm region of the Milky Way, then to the solar system. :)

It's clear that the Cylons have no idea where Earth is, and they only colonized their own home world after the first Cylon war. Also, 12 is a religious number. There is definitely something supernatural going on - the entire series has been (more than) hinting at it. We've seen angels (in the form of Six), miracles (Kara returning), and other unexplainable phenomena. This story is religiously based to not make use of it with regards to the final five. Watch for more.

One thing is for certain. Lots of people are never going to make it to Earth. Probably some of the main characters if I had to guess. I predict Admiral Adama and Laura Roslin will not live to see Earth, though the former will live long enough to know his flock is safe. As for the final five, I'm still not convinced that the four we think are cylons are really cylons at all. And I think there's something special about the final 5, like an ability to ignore their programming... and pick sides.

I think you can take anything gleaned from the hype and toss it - all the teasers and trailers, etc. because in the end, they don't matter, and the producers may not have control over them. Point is, what we think we "know" is suspect. My opinion about Tigh is not related to his belief system - Boomer hated cylons - it's that the cylons replaced him. That has not been their MO with ANY cylon agents so far. And the technology for them did not exist before Adama met Tigh. Something fishy.

God this looks so amazing!!! The story lines on this show are so surprising and amazing; you never foresee the twists they throw at you. I for one can't wait for this season. I wish it wasn't ending, but given that it is, every episode is going to be just that much more exciting and revealing. YEAHHH!

Maybe but think about this,
the producers have told Starbuck this so as an actor Kate will really think she is'nt going to turn in to a Cylon, so she would come across more convincing when its finally revealed that she is the final one.
Thats the way i would play it if she is going to be the one, but i really have no idea, i am really looking forward to the season 4.
When the mini series came out i thought it was the best sci fi i had ever seen, man it was good.

I understand that, and if I were the producer I would do the same. I believe that making Starbuck a Cylon would be too easy for the producers to do. Lets face it this show has never taken an easy major plot decision. You can argue the One Year thing was, but that took bollocks and is actually the reason why the same thing happened on Doctor Who in series 3 (Russel T Davies said it in the podcast). If Starbuck is a Cylon she will be the first true hybrid, but I doubt she is a Cylon either way.

I don't think he's the 13th cylon, but he might be the first hybrid. We don't know much about his mother, so she could be the last. Also, it makes sense that hybrids would be able to hear the transmissions. To me, at least.
