The trick to autos is popping in negative pitch right when you start to decend, then just keeping it at 0 pitch, until you are like 10 feet off the ground. Then you flare.
actually you shouldnt have to flair the 600 at all it autos good.expec. when using a torque tube i auto mine from 1000 feet and never flar it just drop it like a rock and set er down smooth
You are good at flying but believe me you are not doing Auto's from 1000 feet. The vid I watched I would give you the benefit of saying you were at 300ft. At a 1000 ft a 4ft long Helicopter will be a .
Not necessarily. Curtis Youngblood took his 700 (which is a little bigger than the 600) 2500 feet up and performed an auto. He had an eagle tree altimiter on it so I know the height was accurate. I took my 600 up to 800 feet for an auto with an altimiter on it and you could still see it great.

the average RPM in flying with a 600 trex is about 2000-2100, but at an auto it can go up to 2900-3000.

try flipping 180 right before touchdown so your front skids touch first

The higher you get, the easier it is to do an Auto. You can build up you headspeed even if you stop the blades in the air.

nice job, you need to flair more and land nose down.

Thanks, This thing Auto's so nice its hard not to do them for a whole tank of fuel. I want to see how high I can take it.
freeflyn2001 3 years ago
High is good, just keep the head speed up so keep a fast descent. Flare it at about 5 feet and land nose down. Tail down=bad...LOL
Ya, autos are fun and I have done a whole tank of them before...LOL, it was like 20 minutes worth of flying...
