I just read some of the other comments and had to comment on the Jesus post. I am glad you are happy with your god, but one of the many great things about this tune is its reference to "the creator", which can include all, no matter what one believes. Jesus is just one of the infinite choices when it comes to spirituality and moral philosophies. Peace and happiness to all of you, no matter who or what your creator(s) is/are.

Wow! these cats are the coolest of cool-cats. Each song is classic, containing ska, reggae, hip-hop, jazz and funk of course, among others. Since I first bought Cool and Steady and Easy way back when, I have absolutely loved this band, and everything they have done. They are truly Essential. I know you all have your opinions, and some agree, some disagree, and some are in between, but I had to rave about them, as I have all their music, this is the first time I have You-tubed them. 5-stars

Hopin' LEON THOMAS is Credited for the Inspiration, at Least!? 'The Creator' was on his Debut LP: "SPIRITS KNOWN & UNKNOWN" -on the Flying Dutchman label. It is available on CD -& eBay is most likely a good place to search for that recording right now. BROOKLYN FUNK ESSENTIALS is obviously Well Versed in The Music's History -& it'd be Great if all they're Fans were Too! -Blue!

The original is by Pharoah Sanders on his album Karma. It kicked ass by then, but there isn't much people caring about jazz anymore, and even less free jazz x).
