  • Amazing!!

  • Dr. Sean: Thank you so much for this immersion bath to the soul. Now I've another Bach interpreter to enrapture my sirit. The other one is Mr. Edward Power Biggs.

  • And this... is played with the appropriate shoes!

I didn't realize organs had footnotes... No pun intended O_o

  • great admiration ,

  • unreal....

  • Very good recording. With right speakers, feels like you're there.

  • @gorantokio Indeed...that is the expertise of sound engineer Lenny Manchess at work. Lots more of his handiwork at Trinity Wall Street's website and YouTube channel.

  • Excellent performance, played from memory as well. Superb sound. saved to my favourites.

  • @silverstartrucker Thank you. As you probably can tell, I enjoy playing this work.

  • Thank you all for your comments. I am encouraged to see that this video has picked up so many views. Many more to come over the next few months!

  • amazing!!!

    great organist!

  • Bach was the man!

  • Absolutely brilliant. Beautifully played.

  • Is it just me or is he not reading any music plaing this I know one is able to memorize the music but this is a complicated piece. Bravo!

  • joli. Bien joué

  • oh god i'm going to hell for this:

    LOOK! ITS BLACULA!!!

  • @mysterypolice HAHAHAHA!

  • @mysterypolice lol, me too for laughing at it :D

  • HOLY CRAP - That was intense!

Although I love the piano... the only piece in the world I want to play on a different instrument is this piece. Now I just got to find me a really expensive organ and lots of practice time... :(

  • Utterly superb! I thought only a savant could play such a piece of music from memory. Wow!!

  • Great, now play it backwards. :)

  • the most epic instrument ever invented by man

  • @acheron16 I completely agree :)

  • @TheFuzzyLogical1 What About A Gibson SG !!!!!!

  • ???

  • Jeu superbe, aussi élégant que fluide, version magistrale, tellement maitrisée, la perfection, c'en est presque troublant... Bravo et merci, Johann Sebastian doit être ravi...

  • @alexcheret ?????

  • He needs a cape

  • @TheRegulated

    And a dark room...

  • @JonathanTheAlchemist yeap haha

  • He got the sound right in this church, long lasting tunes and deep true notes. Nice!

  • Seeing that this was posted in 2010 gives me hope for the future. Incredible work.

  • Heaven to the ears! FANTASTIC! Best version i've come across.

  • what this player is missing, is the SOUL of the music.

  • Wow, that was really good! I liked your registration. Nice job!

  • All I have to say is, wow! Beautiful!

  • the best ive ever heard by far.

ive listened to this straight through 3 times already!

  • Too many play this piece too fast! This was excellent.

  • if maybe i had ten arms? nope not even then

  • Well, but slow. beauty however.

  • Are the organ pipes we see at the end of the video of stone?

  • @stigomaster metal/brass, copper

  • The great, Sean Jackson!!!!!!

  • all this guy need now is a long black cape and some fake fangs and he'll look the part while playing this!!

  • It's Da BOMB baby! Finger action as smooth as glass and the split video of his hands working and his feet doing the dance on the foot pedals give the performance even more character.

  • Simply fantastic. Well played, really a mastrepiece. WOW :)

  • Esse foi abençoado por Deus, diferente de mtas pessoas que tem habilidades vc tem um dom

  • awesome, he do it very very good.....

  • Gott is black !!!

  • OMG. I've been looking for this tune for SO LONG! I always hear it in movies and stuff

  • 100% the best on youtube. You only have to say "WOW"!

  • Yes, the rhythm and articulation are interpretive!

  • you played that piece amazingly i love that piece

  • Dr.Jackson My Good Sir You Are a Genius!

  • I whistle this entire song, even if i don't notice it.

  • of all the renditions i like this one the best, it's not all choppy sounding, just a smooth version, thanks Sean

  • I love Dr Jackson's playing ever since i saw the video of him playing at Trinity Church.

  • Bravo Sean! Heavenly amazing!!!!!!

  • I wish I could take lessons from you! I'm trying to learn this peice and - don't laugh - I think I'm going to turn the organ off and play along with your recording til I get the tempos (and touch) right.

  • nice shoes 6:40

  • Im officially impressed by this man

  • Well played Sir!

    Dog

  • Vey nice, and modern interpretation. Great player. So bad he doesn't use the registers (pulls and pushbuttons around him) of the organ to change the tone of the instrument as he goes from part to part, as indicated in the original score. Only this monotonous sound from the beginning to the end. He doesn't fully seize and exploits the abilities of his instrument, thus the interpretation is a bit poorer than it could be with tone changes.

  • @poymanjoe He does change stops, though. He mostly does so using the presets under the manuals. I hear a number of different sounds in use here, though most of them ARE of the churchy-sounding diapason family.

  • yeeeeah! that was fuckin sweet! virgil fox ain't got nuthin on you!

  • I had to come back and listen to this again 8 hours after hearing it/seeing it for the first time.... If this man doesn't get paid to play music, he damn well should be!!

  • SKILLS..... wow...

  • wow.

  • Brill-oh, wait, it's an asian.

  • @LeftHandCookie Asians? ....

  • Bravo Maestro! Most fluid performance of this master piece I've heard yet and all done without the assistance of the sheet music infront of you. For you to have memorized this piece show tremendous intimacy with your love of music and your instrument of choice. Again... BRAVO!

  • Excellente! I love how the camera focused on the fingering and footing. Not many videos of this piece do that. I too am learning Bach's grand master piece, Busoni's version for piano which has alot more difficult fingering than the organ version. This is just perfectly played! Bravo!

  • Daaaamn! =D

  • Wow, no obvious mistakes that I could hear. Wonderful vision of the piece, as well. I generally don't enjoy the use of ritardando's very much in this piece but you used them tastefully, in my personal opinion. Also, the video has a good quality image. :)

  • Best version I've heard, similar to Virgil Fox

  • Definitely the best rendition on the web :D

    Absolutely fantastic!

  • It's amazing, but when it says Presstissimo, he played kind of like Allegro.

  • My favorite is around 8:45-9:00. I'm totally ending one of my pieces on that progression some day.

  • JS Bach, at his best! ... Rollerball? I hope that's not people's first thought when hearing this song! LOL

  • ROLLERBALL!

  • As soon as I heard those first few notes, I faved this.

  • This is beyond Fantasic....amazing. Opening theme to the original Rollerball movie

  • This is beyond Fantasic....amazing

  • This guy is great. Notice how calm and relaxed he is while playing. Every time I've seen someone botch this piece, it was because they tried to hard to concentrate or to play too fast. Just need to loosen up a little and relax and your playing will come out more smoothly...like this guy.

  • Excellent job! What tremendous talent! And an even more beautiful organ at that!

  • Amazing

  • Played PERFECTLY!!

  • OMG! I guess i couldn´t play something like that not even in a milion years.. awesome

  • INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • Outstanding version. he lets the tones sustain nicely to to appreciate the sound of those pipes!

  • Хубаво!!!

  • DARK CASTLE !

  • @anoza21 haha you're right but remember this game was such a crap! lol i would never have guess the theme was actually from Bach

  • awesome…

I guess this is the best piece, well played.

    congratulation.

  • Brilliantly done, Sean is quite a talent indeed. Thanks for posting this piece.

  • fantastic is this or gan pipe or digital

  • Incredibly well played. Possibly the best on youtube!

  • awesome!!!

  • I love this so much. The Toccata and Fugue is my favorite organ piece.
