  • recently dismandel at mumbai at THE TIMES OF INDIA

    BEST MACHINE

  • This one was at Times of India, Mumbai. A huge tower, well kept press in a nice facility. Dont remember configurations though.

  • We've got ours up to 70,000.Oh boy the whine it makes.

  • Its great to see an older Goss press still running like a top. There are many Goss Metroliner presses in still in action across the country.

  • #1 Press ! Hands down . 25 years and counting .

  • I worked on a Goss Metro for years, as well as a few others, there was no better press made.

  • I operate a Manroland Rotoman, top speed is 65,000 iph. That's with a single chopper folder too. I will do that speed on a regular basis. I used to run a Hantscho Mark 16, and thought 35,000 iph was haulin' ass.

  • lmfao try jogging on 3 stackers on a 3 out job on a GOSS C700 165,000 Impressions Per Hour. you add a plow and you have a fucking paper party

  • 90,000 iph huh? Pray to the press gods you don't throw a plate/web break/folder jam.

  • i work on a timson 54 web press.... sadly the max speed is only 1300 ft. (24700 iph)

  • For older presses, seems like a good speed. In the shop I am Pressroom Supervisor over, we have 2 700i's, a 548i, and a 540. The slowest we run is 50000 IPH onthe 540. The fastest is 87000 IPH on the 700's. But it makes me laugh now when I ran the old SSC Community and thought that 25000 IPH was something else.

  • I work in the mailroom at The Tennessean, and the fastest we push our presses and stacker/strapper is a solid 54,000. We average about 43-48K per hour. Anything more and our ancient machinery has trouble handling it.

  • Sound like San Diego's Union tribune ! problem is "they" never learn ! The paper waste is horrible do to stackers that cant handle the speed. If they ran at say .. 43k or so... it would be smooth..... but NOOOOO ! can't do that .

  • At the Los Angeles Times we generally run the presses between 50K IPH and 55k, everything depends on the mailroom, product we are producing, and if the newsprint can be delivered to the presses fast enough by the automatic guided vehicles.

  • i saw your robots, they look slow. We have a track it's much faster. I guess you need the bots because of the amount of paper you use. your draw is about 750,000aint it? we are only about 50,000. we have a headliner

  • You should see the new press of montreal paper, 90,000 iph. But for a old one, can you imagine the possible damage at this speed, in my mind the first pressmen is playing with fire and could cost a lot of money to the business.

  • 90,000 is awesome we can run up to 70,000. we print at about 55,000. no real need to do 70. I counld not even think of a wrap up at 90.

  • The thing is, that it will never happen there is cutting knife everywhere, this press is the most advance press in the world, it even change roll by itself, make pasters, adjust the color, it's just amazing!!!!

  • I ran a 3000i in Arlington, TX at Pro Line Printing. We ran 96000 IPH. For about 4 hours. Then burned up every cam follower in the folder haha. It didnt really run past 80000 IPH after.

  • hearnhead - i've heard a resist block fly out on a Rockwell Baker Perkins G14 folder at 45000iph. oddly enough 'holy shit' was my first thought as well........

  • ohhhhh wuauuuuuuuuu

  • 57,000 I.P.H. holy shit that's fast. I've never seen anything run over 40,000 iph.

  • we have two of these old presses they are a balls to set the folder but real easy to jam
