I didnt think this movie looked good from the previews I seen on TV but it was FUCKIN AWESOME. Matt Damon is now in the top 2 best war movies ever, Saving Private Ryan and Green Zone. Seriously it is incredible. Almost as good as the Bourne movies and thats very high praise. Go see it, you will not be dissapointed, trust me

I saw this film yesterday on cinema!

Its a piece of action movie, in the starting phase of invasion of iraq. It has its moments, but its never convincing really. The action is to realistic to be entertaining in some sense. It interesting cause it has a lot objective morality, and Matt Damon knows that when things matters-truth matters most-else everything is shit! I recommend it but its not really so cinemtic actually! Also this movie comes out 5Years to late to public viewing!

The green zone is a real thing. Its a taken over palace in baghdad that has more guards than the white house. Its financial bankers and think tanks put there by the US government to develope a "new Government" to lead the "new" iraq. Although i do not know what this movie has to do with it. i see some aspects of similarity.

as a vet i really dont get how or why Special Forces would want to kill a regular soldier, nor do i understand how a regular soldier can be given million dollars to run his own mission.

Nah, it's completely separate from the Bourne films, story-wise. It's based off of real-life events in Iraq, from what I understand. The similarities come from a similar theme (US special operative) and the fact that it's directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, the director and (obviously) star of the Bourne films. They're also written or at least co-written by the same guy as well, I believe.

So the style is just inevitably very similar. But I agree, it definitely looks good.

The battles only last a few days and youre fighting with 300 best tanks in the world against a few thousand villagers armed with AKs

The patrols are boring for months, few see action, maybe once a week where it lasts a second, boom goes humvee
