The main dillema about this song, and this style of music is the fact that if it went mainstream it'd be ruined, yet it's effect would be mainstream... It's a paradox we can't avoid.
@AshweeSTFU i disagree the only reason it would be ruined is ....some people claim to be differant but being differant has been the craze eversince punk happened and people try to hard to be differant and forget the whole point of being differant is being yourself. This 'type' of music should go mainstream in my opinion to educate the younger people (like it says in the song) because these days peopel are too obsessed with thing like jersy shore and crap like that and they cant give two sh*ts
shine your light so bright so that all can see, take pride in being whoever the fuck you want to be, throw your fist in the air in solidarity and shout VIVA LA PUNK JUST ONE LIFE ANARCHY!
Punk is my favorite genre of all time, especially Ska Punk. Punk songs arent always the most tuneful but the lyrics are amazing dependent of bands obviously but check out Bad Religion, Nofx, Anti-flag, Streetlight Manifesto and ReelBigFish. All time greatest imo
If there is a better time for me to have heard this song, it would be now. Without sounding like 'poor little old me', sometimes a teenage girl needs something or someone to tell her its ok just to be herself. And I'm glad i have the king blues and my mother to do that for me.
@megustaface Yeah it was an exaggeration, anyone could see that. but if you don't believe loads and loads and loaaaads of bands werent made/influenced by/because of punk then... :L
@megustaface Punk is a music genre that actually has a meaning, the subgenres like hardcore punk have huge positive outlooks, like creating straight edge. you have no idea about music, but is one of the most influencing music out there.

@ccccharles1 selling out is abandoning your values for money. if you can do what you love and make money doing it, that's called being a successful and fulfilled person.
@ienjoypaninis Nah dude, if a band that focuses their music on Love and protest is charging £3000 for a single show it's selling out. I mean that's what? £100 max for petrol, £2900 for showing everyone how underground they are.
And to add to the little debate here, punk wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for heavy metal, while heavy metal was what counteracted the hippie counterculture in the sixties, punk just fortified what heavy metal started with added political angst. But to the day they hang up their instruments, they will still be playing protest gigs and demonstrations!
And as they came from such a background, fecking hats off to them for now making some money out of it!

Make it possible for people to hear underground music!
All you retards talking physchobabble are stupid! Really stupid!
If your too tight to buy their music then dont but they are certainly not sell outs!
They still perform there old stuff with as much passion as ever, promoting anti racism, anti fascist vibes!
And there modern stuff in turn will make people check out their older stuff, thus making people more aware of reality!
Modern pop music is polluting the youth!
retrohippy1 1 year ago 2
Ive never commented on any of these as it really bugs me but i think its time i did!
This band are not sell outs one bit!
Ive seen them from the days of squatting to HOOOOOGE recent gigs!
The passion, the heart, the soul that they produce isnt selling out!
They came from nothing man, hats off to them for now making some money out of it!
And regardless how much they sell for their singles and albums, alot of that is down to the record company!
