Hi, How's the screen quality of the MacBook Aluminum contrast and color wise? I heard the MacBook pro has a better screen quality but is the difference significant? What did you think of the screen quality of your MacBook Aluminum? Lastly, do you think the MacBook Aluminum's screen is good enough for some photo editing like in iPhoto or Picasa? Thanks =)
if anyone is interested in buying an Apple 13-inch Macbook Pro, I will be selling a completely brand new factory packaged never been removed from the box 13-inch Macbook Pro soon. I will sell it for around $950(buy it from apple its around $1060). If you are interested PM me and we can negotiate
I'm not sure if you were asking me or someone else, but I guess computers are more widely used nowadays. I have a little cousin in the 3rd grade that has to use the computer for class projects and nightly homework. Also they make great starter computers for anyone who wants to get into making their own movies (for class or youtube). They probably don't need something as powerful as a macbook pro, but it sure is nice to have.
I love my Macbook aluminum 2.4GHz, but it sort of bothers me that they came out with the new macbook pro 4 months after I purchased this one and I would've saved an extra hundred dollars and would've gotten double the ram and same amount of hard drive space and obviously the extended battery, firewire 800 and SD card slot. Don't need firewire, but next yr they'll come up with something better anyway.
Go for the Macbook Pro. I bought the Macbook Aluminum and is fantastic, but you won't get the extra battery life, SD card slot, firewire 800 port and a better screen gamut which is the contrast, so my friend now you know :)
dude could you give me ANY suggestion about taking care of the battery (and a way were I can keep it's lifetime the same as long as I can). I mean for example, should I keep the energy adapter plugged in after the battery gets fully charged? or anything that could help me. Thanks, NOTE: I've got a 13" MacBook Pro
Wrong information? where? the specs and technical data were collected from apples website as well as the keynote videos on youtube . Please give specific examples so I can correct them, but I don't think I gave any wrong information out.
- The new battery is made of hard plastic, not easy to kill.
- You can't move the battery b/c they removed all the latches etc, that are needed to pop up that back panel, b/c removing that they got more space for a bigger battery,
- it's fire wire 400 or 800, there is no 600, there is a 4 and 6 pins fire wire 400.
- Note what's on the apple site: Combined optical digital output/headphone out (user-selectable analog audio line in) * There is no Special Apple adapter needed for that.
not sure what to believe, but i only know FireWire 400 & 800 and 3200(future) no 600, go google or wikipedia etc, nothing shows FireWire 600 does exist? where did you get that information?
- as far as i know there is no ''Special Apple adapter'' or other adapter's to do that. they only said it would work with your iPhone headset, and their new Headset with remote. so it's not an option using both at the same time to plug one audio out mini jack 3,5mm and one audio in.
dealing with the audio, There is a special adapter made for the Imac which allows two jacks 1 3.5mm jack for the audio out and 1 3.5mm jack for the mic(i should know, I worked in the department that installed them at a university) some headsets won't work if they are not an apple product, which would require such an adapter). I can't use my headset with the new 13" macbook pro unless I bought a similar adapter.
I hope this clears up any issues you have with my video. keep in mind that this video was created less than 24 hours after the product was announced and info was not available to me then as it is now. I don't intentionally provide false information and do the best to my abilities with the time given. I also don't have a team of editors like a multi billion dollar news industry so some mistakes are made.
i don't get why there was needed a special adapter for the imac? didn't it had an audio out and in? b/c the imac's i know always had an analog out and in. I'm sorry for the confusion, and did not noticed until later that the video was made just 24 hours after the keynote. and I'm sorry for my reaction about false information.
It's gonna take a long, LONG time for you to kill that battery so you shouldn't be so hung up on it. One of the reasons Apple made the battery integrated is because getting rid of the pieces required for a removable battery made more room for a bigger, longer lasting, integrated battery. And of corse, a solid bottom is just that, more solid. I've had my "BlackBook" for going on 2 years and between me, my wife, and everybody who uses it, the battery gets drained all the time and it's just fine.
the 4GB of ram only cost around $70 you were scammed, and also to replace it, you need to take it apart, so the quick swap battery panel just uncovers the HD and the battery.
Stores are still charging a high price for DDR3 memory(only DDR2 is really cheap). The last time I checked prices they were right around $50-$60 per 2gb stick of ram in my area. Where did you get your DDR3 for $70? I sure could use a cheap ram upgrade.
as far as the built in battery goes in the new macbook pro it cost the same as buying a new white macbooook battery and it cost the same as the white one also...and installation is included..its 129 plus tax to get it installed...and it can get installed same day if u make an appointment at the apple store or 4 days if u mail it in. it still cost the same tho.
In point of fact, the Macbook Pro battery is easy to remove - not as easy as the Macbook, but still pretty straightforward. Check out iFixit's website: they have unveiled a step by step guide of how to remove the battery. They have even speculated that, given the easy removability of the battery, other manufacturers will begin to make replacements. Whether one will need to remove the battery within the 5 year period as you describe, is a different matter. But it can be done!
If you go to iFixit website you will see that it is quite easy to replace the Macbook Pro battery. This being the case, I imagine other manufacturers out there will begin to churn out apple-like replacement batteries. So don't despair! Given this fact, I believe that Apple might even change the design of the undercarriage and make the non-removable battery removable. Here's hoping.
Yep, I was just so surprised that Apple released new versions only 7 months after the macbook aluminum came out. I'm kinda pissed about it, but not as much as people who bought a macbook aluminum a week ago only to find out there is a cheaper, better version out there, lol
Yaz! I so feel your pain! I told myself "Okay, it's just the same old aluminum MacBook" but hell, they added keyboard lights to the new baseline model which also costs much cheaper than the old one. Grr! If only the guys at Apple could add keyboard lights to aluminum MacBooks without it, I would be so contented with mine. :))

not so amused with all the wrong information your giving, you should have googled or watched the keynote before telling information to people.

-The new battery is made of a plastic cover but has internal lithium polumer cells
- I only said you couldn't remove it because it would void the warranty (mind you this was only a day after the new macbook pro was announced)
- at 2:44 I clearly said it had a fire wire 800 port... when mentioning 600 i wasn't refuring to the new macbook and yes 600 does exist
-you can't use a regular headset mic/phone. @ 4:21 I mentioned using both ports at once, which you can't do without a special adapter.

Battery life really counts, which the Macbook Pro 13" has at least 7 hr duration.
