i have this game for ps2, even know the graphics are a little aged i still love playing it. for anyone looking at buying it, you should. i personally love driving my lamborghini murcielago just hitting 200 mph on hawaiian roads. you get a good sense of speed in interior view aswell.

PS2 version is good too, but the PC one is twice as fun. I've beaten both and I had a lot of fun playing both of them so if you want a long racing game with open world and you have a ps2 buy it, its good!

Are you kidding this game is awesome!!! Im riding ford gt 40,  feels nothing like the ford in gt 4. I always thought the ford gt 40 was crap cause I'd only driven it in gran turismo 4. Once I took off in the car with this game I realized wow this car is nice after all... and how obviously gran tur had turned the car to dogshit in their game. Hawaii, so sweet to drive fast on a naturally formed and shaped volcanic island aint it. Smoothe and flowing, liquid landscape..so fun..

Well I'm sure you wont be satisfied til you get gt 4, but get this game also, I got mine for 5 bucks. I"ve played gt 1 , 3, and 4, and noticed the cars in gt are all terribly flawed. They are in fact sabotaged, once you build enough torque with the wheels to start processing with, the tires will slip on the rims releasing your leverage. Actually the wheels break loose at rim to hub connection, hub to axle , as well as tire to rim. td u is solid my friend...dont play gt,bad for you..

@zc7hhr GT4 is a sole racing game. This is almost more like a driving simulator, where you can drive calmly wherever you like. I'd buy both.

no, it loads at the start but after that ,except for going into a race and such, everything loads on the fly. In some cases, you may encounter a little hickup when the loading can't keep up while driving, but I found this to be very rare.

-: no,hitchhiker/model missions (but there are time trials), no bikes, no ferraris, no manual transmission, less detailed environment (duh), no bonus island

Also, the car handling is entirely different.

Same island where you drive around, do missions and buy new cars and houses, though.
