As a survivor of abusive parents, I have to call BS on this. Don't you know kids are terrified into submission by their abusers? No amount of helplines and nosy do-gooder organizations is going to stop this. Teach the kids to defend themselves; to stand up for themselves. We don't need more victims. @Elricchasers Yeah that'd probably help matters wouldn't it? People who abuse or neglect children were often abused and neglected themselves when younger. I don't think abusing them some more would really help. It'd probably be more beneficial for you to sit down with the woman and ask her what has got her to the point of abandoning her child. Or investigating how you can help correct structures in society that lead to people doing that.
