But one ricochets off the wall to come back and ask me
Am I scared of him or the "nigga that blast me"
Or maybe just the hammer that goes to be a hole in an innocent bystander"
I can write a paragraph for those few lines. But we gonna keep it short. One way I see it is that the shooter, his enemy, shot the bullets. The bullets missed him but one of them that flew past him came back and asked him is he scared of the bullet itself or the shooter.
This song never gets old... I remember the first time I heard this song I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Lupe is easily a top 5 lyricist of alltime!!! My number 1
@Boneyslim88 o i was ready to jump out of my skin and take my ears with me, i mean if u listen to this and then listen to his new album u can TELL he was" dumbed down" (as he would say) alot. and he DOESNT like this album he just released because of that fact. thats why if u listen to the first two songs off "lasors" and then listen to the rest he wanted the album to be like the first two songs, record label and music elite said no u must make" changes" state run radio i swear

All the Rolexs is hatin' you see the smirks on they faces"
HOLY SHIT.These metaphors are ridiculous. A button Up(rich man) drove by in a 6-4 impalla( '64 impalla, which is considered a "gansters car")/ All the Rolex's (Gansters/pimps...Pretty self explanatory) hatin on you (the button up), you can see the smirks on their faces (If you look at a clock when one hand is pointing at the 6, and the other at the 4; it look's like the clock has a smirk!!!
@PowShredder801 Yea he's completely insane! He's Hip Hop & like Lupe being the future of Hip Hop, I feel I am too. I know youre sick of the damn "im a rapper" comments on youtube, but im not. @PowShredde Chicago's best. He's ridiculous. I Listen to this song everyday and i figure something out that i didnt recognize before. I knever would have thought of that, thats awesome.
@PowShredder801 holy shit!!! myfriend u just blew my mind alllllllllllllll over again when it comes to this song. this song is what the radio and the elite FEAR!!!!!!!
IF YOU LOVE HIP-HOP CHECK OUT HiDefinition. HE IS AN UP AND COMING ARTIST THAT IS EXTREMELY TALENTED. SEARCH FOR "AVAILABLE IN HD -MY ZONE" AND HELP GET REAL HIP-HOP THE RECOGNITION IT DESERVES.
i dont give a fuck, lupe is THE MOST LYRICAL artist ever.. whoever says wayne or eminem are more lyrical then him are horribly uninformed or just stupid
@Ra1n0nY0u the most lyrical rap artist alive that still raps that is, Rakim is a fucking beast on the mic nas, big L, tupac, biggie, eazy e, krs one, proof, ol diry bastard, all crazy mutha fuckers on the mic by lupe is still my favorite he raps about things that are important
@Ra1n0nY0u Em is white...there are more white listeners to rap music. Along with that, there are more white females that listen to the radio and whatever plays the most on the radio is caused because white girls love it. White females are the target marketing agenda for entertainment industries...look at television. Good music doesn't get what it needs because the public isn't hearing it enough.
Hey if you like samples all you gotta do is wipe out the lyrics and sample whats being sampled on the instrumental ..of course that sample wont be as sampletastic as a sample thats been sampled with some Lupe lyrics because all good samplers know that great sampled lyrics and a sampled beat on a mostly sampled sample will just blow the mind of any sample-attuned sampling sample listener
The things we own own us. It become impossible to separate the individual from the stuff, the things from the person. What's hip-hop without Glocks, rims, bitches, snitches, and work? This is what Lupe makes me think about here.
a bunch of contradictions, paradox's, and hyperboles to show how complicated his mind is thus creating a twilight zone. a undefined and intermediate area
@ktroy1000 explain this then, is it just so ironic that the 2 most lyrical monsters in teh rap game n dominate over all in the lyrical capabilitys......lupe fiasco, and eminem ppl call him that shit 2...its so over ated man fuck it aint affectin us? these flows they spit are just fire ,,,,,wheres the facts
@ktroy1000 you're a "bitch" for labeling people incorrectly. I'm wondering how you were competent enough to turn on the computer because you are so ignorant.
@ktroy1000 he's not illuminati, if you listen to his music he's always speaking the truth and subtly putting anti-illuminati lyrics in his songs. Listen to Words I Never Said
@TheCultchR pay this kid no mind.......he's been brainwashed and conditioned to think that anytime he SEES a pyramid or something, he associates it with the Illuminati. If he clearly took the time to listen to the lyrics he'd have no problem. some people have gone overboard with this Illuminati shit. I'm not under the impression that someone has intentionally disinformed people about it and have totally confused people. you want the truth don't watch Youtube vids on it, but read books about it
Before listening to Lupe I thought all rap was about drugs, money, girls, and killing people. I refused to listen to it, instead I became a poet, trying to make meaningful poems. After I heard Lupe and Eminem all of that changed. I figured out that rap could be about real issues. Lupe had inspired me to be an mc. Check out my channel if you wanna hear my music.
This song was likely inspired by Spice 1's 187 Proof... Lu stated that the song blew him away---it was the first record he heard and was blown away by hip hop.
@mangoKush12 he's using personification, all the objects he uses grills jerseys etc. are living things he uses them as a metaphor for how he sees the world "And Television is on deathrow for killing BET and MTV over a dice game And paralyizing CNN for knifing him in the neck"
Lupe is my favorite and i have both of his main CD's. Any suggestions as to which mix tape tracks I should listen to? I already listen to conflict diamonds, switch, and handcuffs but I'm looking for his other ones that people like.
@akspartan92 Failure is Lupe's best song imo. Lupe the Killer and Mean and Vicious are both in his Top 5 or 7 songs imo. Listen to his mixtapes Fahrenhiet 1/15 part 1 and Fahrenhiet 1/15 part 2. They are both fucking insane, and the wordplay is ridiculous. There's a part 3 too, its nice too just a lil short n the Gorillaz produced all the tracks so if you dont like rock you might not like it, but the lyrics are just as insane as the other two.
@doc2raw maybe best lyrical song but NOT best. He has archives of songs (all of which I've heard) and he is too beastly for his songs to be narrowed to a few songs. lol He's my fav MC ever.
If pac was poetic then what is Lupe? honest opinion as young as Lupe is I must say his verses and metaphors meet no boundaries. Ive heard all the pac lyrics and never did any go to the depth Lupe regurgitates and spits his. Best Rapper alive but I guess he needs to get shot and killed so that dumb, closed minded individuals can actually appreciate his rhymes, or he can dumb it down for the public and sell albums in high quantities..... nah!........ hhaha and he's why Hip Hop is saved!
@KrisJake1 Yep, best real Hip Hop rapper alive! Lupe is no eeeefffinn joke!!! He is just another 2pac/Nas/Scareface/ Z-Ro etc. Very intelligent, educated, street smart and political individuals that few seem 2 appreciate.
@KrisJake1 Been saying this sinc F&L came out...Lupe can do it all...Meaningful lyrics, story teller, influencial, UNREAL flow, complex metaphors, and clever wordplay. Not to mention that his lyrics are very versatile....IMO, he's the best lyricist in the game ATM.
@KrisJake1 Pac is the wrong person to be attacking in such an argument look at the niggas thats alive and judge them that is why hip hop is dead because people not focused on those puppets being overplayed on the radio...
before you comment back to me ask yourself who is being overplayed on the radio when u turn it on because its definitely not tupac...
KILLUMINATI!...tupac and lupe same revolution different revolutionary!
@RSomfg Lupe stands for what he believes in and will continue to revolt the bull! He's Hip Hop & like Lupe being the future of Hip Hop, I feel I am too. I know youre sick of the damn "im a rapper" comments on youtube, but im not. Im an artist like Lupe and my music will show it if you give it a chance! TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I COME CORRECT IN EVERY LINE I DROP" I stand for 100% Hip Hop, and you wont be disappointed. Its 1440 minutes in a day, im just asking for 3. Thanks and take care
i dont noe why he iz ben compared to pac like if he waz better nd shit im sure if u ask lupe he wouldnt say he iz better . i like lupe dont get me wrong but i think he is the best/realest out now but pac waz ona higher caliber he waz a business man a revolutionary and well fuck all that comparen the 1s who rap and speak about the same topic--progresion..compare to the dumbdowning zombiez..this jam goez hard though
He used personification throughout this whole song to form an allusion displaying his views on hip hop culture as a whole, from mere fashion to the repetitive topics rappers elaborate on... Dudes a genius
Huh...don't seen many debates settled peaceably on Youtube. Personally, the Lupe-hater didn't have to be so... elitist about it, though. You like what you like. This son isn't necessarily difficult to understand, but it creates nice imagery. It's nice to think about what the different objects represent in real life.
shit was wierd! if this is supposed to be his mind then this guy is DEF different! as for the song the beat was the only thing i could bump to cause the lyrics were trippin.
@QwarterZ1 But if so many samples are used, we'll need a reference sample to remember the sample sampled from the original. we'll call it the exsample.
@QwarterZ1 So both yall like samples? Ill look up the 60's sample that way your sample will sample the sample being sampled. I just dont like 60's rock samples.
correction for lyrics it's "Who's in for givin' grape Kool-Aid laced wit "strychnine" to Mixtapes and arm robbin cassettes"

I'm wondering how you were competent enough to turn on the computer because you are so ignorant.
johnhoss217 8 months ago
@ktroy1000 he's not illuminati, if you listen to his music he's always speaking the truth and subtly putting anti-illuminati lyrics in his songs. Listen to Words I Never Said
TheCultchR 9 months ago 2

Check out my channel if you wanna hear my music.

haha wow. all the word play and everything is REDICULOUS. just plain outrageous. Lupe > music "artists" & artists, hands down.
AugieGK4life 10 months ago
This song was likely inspired by Spice 1's 187 Proof... Lu stated that the song blew him away---it was the first record he heard and was blown away by hip hop.

I rap, I go by IOTOS, check my tracks out that I uploaded, all hatin is welcome...
hatin is the projection of privatized emotions that are actually reverse spitted because yall don't hate me... yall hate yo' selves.
For those that want to hear good hip hop that is influenced by the greats (Lupe, Shady, AZ, NAS, Rakim, etc.) then check me out and give me a chance.
Listen to Jammed Up, F.T.G., Gov's Greazy...
Give me a Chance and my music will speak for itz self!

wtf is this nigga rappin about?!?!
mangoKush12 11 months ago
@mangoKush12 he's using personification, all the objects he uses grills jerseys etc. are living things he uses them as a metaphor for how he sees the world "And Television is on deathrow for killing BET and MTV over a dice game And paralyizing CNN for knifing him in the neck"
VanessaAKnox 10 months ago
Lupe is my favorite and i have both of his main CD's. Any suggestions as to which mix tape tracks I should listen to? I already listen to conflict diamonds, switch, and handcuffs but I'm looking for his other ones that people like.
akspartan92 11 months ago
@akspartan92 Failure is Lupe's best song imo. Lupe the Killer and Mean and Vicious are both in his Top 5 or 7 songs imo. Listen to his mixtapes Fahrenhiet 1/15 part 1 and Fahrenhiet 1/15 part 2. They are both fucking insane, and the wordplay is ridiculous. There's a part 3 too, its nice too just a lil short n the Gorillaz produced all the tracks so if you dont like rock you might not like it, but the lyrics are just as insane as the other two.
doc2raw 11 months ago 4

KrisJake1 11 months ago 36
@KrisJake1 Yep, best real Hip Hop rapper alive! Lupe is no eeeefffinn joke!!! He is just another 2pac/Nas/Scareface/ Z-Ro etc. Very intelligent, educated, street smart and political individuals that few seem 2 appreciate.
BLACKMAMBA52588 11 months ago
@KrisJake1 Been saying this sinc F&L came out...Lupe can do it all...Meaningful lyrics, story teller, influencial, UNREAL flow, complex metaphors, and clever wordplay. Not to mention that his lyrics are very versatile....IMO, he's the best lyricist in the game ATM.

SonOfMana100 1 year ago
shit was wierd! if this is supposed to be his mind then this guy is DEF different! as for the song the beat was the only thing i could bump to cause the lyrics were trippin.
