It's fun if you hook the audio coming out of the itouch(rca to headphone jack) to a real mixer and use the mixer fader.Then just have your hand on the itouch flare like you would with a real record.

All updates are free, so you don't pay. Now when you go to the tune upload page there's a section for uploading loops. Select it on the device in the normal way.

I too got the blank mp3 label problem too... upon closer inspecting the mp3 (with "file juicer") it was corrupted (two mpg streams appeared, a cut must have happened). Reencoded with iTunes, it now works flawlessly !

Great app btw ! Replaced the aif beats with my mp3 instrumentals and uploaded acapellas to scratch to it !

It works great ! but...

Would you allow scratching with the ipod playing instrumentals or whatever, rather than having to cut the whole mix just to change disc ?

Well Apple forbid access to the iPod library, but we're trying to get the ipod working as a backing track. Not ready yet.

This is indeed the coolest app ever! Only one thing... For some reason when I try to upload a certain mp3 to the ip address issued by flare, it comes up as a blank record label on flare and plays a different song, not the mp3 that I uploaded. I mixed the mp3 myself on acoustica mixcraft, but no matter how I arrange the sounds on the mp3 file, it still will be a corrupt file on flare.

If you know anything about this, please help!!

Ok, I've figured it out...sorta. I just converted it into a wav file rather than an mp3, it works now.. I can send the mp3 file to the support page though, but be cautioned. It was just a bunch of clips of inside jokes between my friends, so it's anything but normal!

The most common reason is that you've quit Flare. It has to be running to upload tunes.

Another sugg I have (Im a graphic designer here bear w/ me) is to change the icon for Flare, it doesnt scream turntable at all to me(probably deliberate). In fact I passed by Flare several times when I was 1st searching for a scratch app thinking it was irrelevant.

This is a really fun app! You have provided a way to skratch that itch anywhere in public that you can set your phone and throw down. You have done an excellent job with torque and samples.

I would like to suggest a few changes.

First off, make the fader have an adjustable contour like an 05. I know you have a transform switch, but this would give a good feel with providing the sliding motion we are used to on crossfaders. Next, make the fader about 4x larger and have the head like a fader.

thats the kinda of shit thats killing hip hop lets make cute little things wack ...there cutting school music programs in my city and check this this weekend the school had a guitar hero contest all these kids are moving away from real instruments and i think it sucks maybe the kids will be determined to pick up a real guitar sorry my opinion

Sorry to hear about the school music program. Languages got cut while I was at school. If you want quality public education, you're going to have to fight for it. And if hip hop can be killed by a simple iPhone app... well I say RIP. As for picking up real instruments, who knows, maybe GuitarHero and Flare could be gateway instruments as they have obvious limitations that the real ones do not. Thanks for the comment, RF.
