UCSB is awesome! Its not full of stuck up students (Not more than any other University anyways) It is currently rated the fourth best UC school in the state and is full of extremely intelligent individuals. There is nothing wrong with having fun and partying, as long as they don't disregard their academics. Basically they're are good looking nerds that know how to party lol.. Go Gauchos! Hopefully I'll be one next year..

I got to UCSB, and people CAN get a little conceited. No one is really *stupid* though -- not at all. People here are SMART. It's just the fact that being fun and outgoing goes against the idea of a quiet studious person. But of course there are quiet people here, too. So if you're quiet, you can still make friends. Actually he was correct. He said Top 15th Public School. That means excluding all the private colleges and universities in the United States like Colombia, Brown, USD etc. The second ranking included all these private colleges and universities. The third ranking he said UNIVERSITY. A university is different from a college, city college, community college, state school etc. That's how UCSB's world ranking is higher than the Overall ranking in the US.

Regardless what people say about UCSB; it comes down to this... UCSB is the biggest party school in Cali; known for raging parties, high consumption of alcohol, good looking people and located on the beach. I'm surprised all the students don't fail. Its one thing to be considered a party school and ignorant to disregard that the kids are also students dealing with the same academic requirements as of UCLA, UCI, UCSD and any other UC's.
