  • lol all i got from this is

    You

    And you!

    And you!

    And you!

  • peter's better

  • No one can imitate Jerry, not even Peter Griffin.

  • funny as hell hav been lookin for this for a while now, thnk you :)

  • A great tribute to Jerry Lewis. Family Guy did everyone a favor who don't know who Jerry Lewis preserving a funny man when I was a kid.

  • That is awesomely excellent! Thanks so much for putting that together. I appreciate you taking the time & putting it online. Its great to see the inspiration behind some of the newer work. This has inspired me to go re-watch The Errand Boy!

  • jerry lewis will always be better.

  • Anyone else notice red spots randomly appearing in peters eyes and teeth?

  • @giberish9 That was a problem in the editing program that I used to put them side to side. It was not in the original video.

  • How ironic that Jerry is way more animated than Peter is xD

  • hahah, brilliant by family guy, cant beat the original though!

  • Wow, Peter is a bit Jerry Lewis-like, if you think about it.

  • what episode is this

  • @J2000J2000J Episode 150. Season 8 - "Brian & Stewie" It plays at the very end of the episode.

  • @Roxy2348 thanks

  • Morty is still best although good try family guy

  • I see it as proving how closely Seth MacFarlane follows the animation to this scene...

  • Pretty good, but it needs more logo

  • Jerry Lewis destroyed you Peter Griffn! In you face!!!!

  • A lovely homage to Jerry Lewis and his works :)

  • I love it!

But I like the original version better. Love Family Guy but it's all about Jerry Lewis for me (:

  • Homage to Lewis...great!

  • Brilliant!

  • Why are ppl even saying its hard to decide which is better? How could the Family Guy one be better if it was a complete copy of the original? Without the original there wouldnt even be a second!

  • this is what I've never understood about family guy. Take a show and aim it at dumbass kids, teens, and stoners but pepper it with tons of pop culture references that far predate their time. The effect is a bunch of dumb asses laughing at something they think is supposed to be funny but not understanding what the joke is or where it came from. Sure, I like family guy sometimes, and it makes me laugh sometimes. But ripping off others' work and putting it totally out of context isn't funny.

  • @Tardis1217 this was a clip that never aired on the original episode for the EXACT reason you stated dumbass!

  • @Tardis1217 haha someones clock is wound up a bit too tight. Geeze man, its a cartoon. They poke fun and cover a lot of people. They're not ripping anyones work off. Everything's cited in the credits. I think they also open a lot of younger peoples eyes to somethings as well. A young adult might wonder where that came from and then "google it" and in turn be educated on it. You're pretty quick to call people a bunch of dumb asses, it makes me question your intelligence.

  • @Tardis1217 furthermore, lol.. What exactly are you trying to say in your sentence, "The effect is a bunch of dumb asses laughing at something they think is supposed to be funny but not understanding what the joke is or where it came from."??? In relation to this joke that family guy uses, they use a joke from a Jerry Lewis film. Just because not everyone might know its origins they aren't aloud to think it funny in present day? You're backwards as fuck man!

  • that was Assom!!!! seth who are you!? you scare me!

  • oh man he did the exact same thing as something else from 50 years ago, isn't that seth mcfarlane a comedic genius

  • Family guy have the benefit of perfect sync and business Peter. The original performance has the honor of being original. Both kick ass.

  • How can one really be better than the other? Family Guy was just paying tribute to how awesome the original is. Apples to oranges.

  • Amazing.. I love animation, but family guy is about great scripts not great animation, and with all the flexibility of animation, dear Mr. Lewis wipes the floor over PG.

Love you Jerry and enjoyed growing up watching your stick. Thanks.

  • This is amazing.

  • The guy on the left seems like more of a cartoon then the other guy.

  • The left side looks like it was edited for speed.

  • @FlamingBat Neither video was edited for speed. They are both played at normal speed as seen in the movie/episode.

  • nice editing (the vertical logo could be smaller). family guy copies as tribute, generates interest. ever see that jerry mouse clip before family guy?

  • Shure it is good old coun basie and his boys. Whos the composer, can it be sammy nestico? cus it does not sound like one of his pieces( acording to me)

  • Shure it is good old coun basie and his boys.

  • find das orginal mit jerry lewis besser

  • both are gvood but i will always like the jerry lewis more

  • One of Family guy's most brilliant moments and that is saying a lot

  • Where's the comedy in copying something exactly? Satire, homage, parody, just comedy involves taking the original material and doing something new with it. But here it is a straight copy. It's funny the first time, but after that...what's the point?

  • Did McFarlene do this by heart or did he look over the footage again?

  • @JakariHanma Seth McFarlene doesn't actually do the animation himself. There is a team of animators that draw the characters. Whoever got to animate this scene did follow the footage very closely. And whoever plotted the timing in the exposure sheets also had to follow the original Lewis footage closely. And also whoever did the storyboard also had to follow the Lewis footage. And obviously the writer did too.

  • Jerry Lewis = Auto Win ;]

Sorry...but no one can beat him in my books. But I still laughed my ass off when I first saw this episode and smiled :P

  • great

  • I knew there was a reason I liked Family Guy too.

  • DOHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

    BRILLIANT!

  • Seth sure does pay tribute to the greats.

  • hahahah Hilarious.

  • the animators for family must have watched this clip from the errand boy thousands of times, because everything peter does is pretty much exactly what jerry lewis does. timed perfectly and everything

  • I don't mean to diss Peter Griffin, but Jerry Lewis is INIMITABLE! NO ONE can imitate his gags (or facial expressions for that manner).

  • @SonictheBlueStreak GEEEEZ!!!don't loose any sleep, it was a cartoon, meaning, of course you can't get perfect expressions, but at least they tried...that why our kids today can know what real comedy is.......L.

  • Jerry's better.

  • jerry will always b king but peter can b the prince :-)

  • God I love this chart.

  • A great tribute!

  • i wish they actually used that clip in an episode. they decided to show it as a clip they decided not to use at the end of the stewie and brian bank episode if im not mistaken

  • @avenueyay Actually, they did use the clip. It was used in the episode called Business Guy, in which Carter has a heart attack and Peter takes over his business. :) They did use it in Brian and Stewie as a look back on an old favourite that they "borrowed" from the original.

  • @Chanaikou oh sorry. yea that's what i meant, i just didnt know how to put it in words lol

  • this is REAL music

  • I LOL'D

  • It's like comparing This comparison is amazing, the animated face of Peter is less "animate" than Jerry Lewis himself.

It's amazing what a poor job even as a facsimile Peter does on the part of animators.

  • Meh, I prefer the Pantomime version. The facial expressions are funnier.

  • Hats off to family guy! they nailed it move for move perfectly!

  • Family guy version is so much better. Why does he go cross-eyed?

  • haha BEST!

  • jerry did a much better job than family guy

  • @RandomVideos4890

You putz, You obviously didn't get it.

  • @RandomVideos4890 Maybe because he invented the bit, and Family guy just copied it ;D

  • @RandomVideos4890 It's a frame for frame remake... If you're talking about the jumpiness, that's not from the animation, it's actually smooth on family guy if you watch the actual show or on the dvd. It was a poor conversion.

  • Absolutely beautiful! great 150 episode... great show.

  • genious. very clever - almost move for move the same

  • O.O OMG this makes me so happy!!!!! jerrys my all time favorite comedic actor in the world! witch is weird cuz imma teenager but to see somethin like this done on family guy makes me smile :-)

  • The animators have better timing than Jerry did. Funny.

Anyone that thinjks this is a lame piece is a fucking moron and shoudl be executed.

  • @jewpiles They had better timing because they had the time to think things out before placing it out into action :P but yeah, I'm pretty amazed at how good a job they did considering family guy's characters are rather basic and lacking volume. This is prooobably my favourite family guy scene.

  • @boxcutter916 I agree there are so many great and original FG bits but I always come back to this one as their most genius moment

  • @jewpiles i should slap you for saying that >.< but imma be nice and give you a hug instead *hug* even tho ur mean hehe lolz ;-P

  • i just laughed the hardest i have sober in a long time

  • first time i saw this on family guy i thought my speakers werent working properly

  • as much as i adore family guy I can't get my eyes from Jerry Lewis face :))

  • Probably one of the funniest things Family Guy has ever done and the sad thing is most of its viewers won't get the reference lol.

  • A excellent tribute from Family Guy. I love it when they put almost forgotten things in their show to they joy of people who have seen it before and people who havent.

  • the solo movies from jerry lewis very great !!!!!! :-)

  • At 1:30 to the end of the video, Jerry & Peter look like they're being pleasured under the desk by their secretaries. After all, isn't that one of the perks of being a CEO?

  • wow! that is pretty awesome...FG pretty matched Jerry Lewis' movements exactly

  • Jerry Lewis = pure comic genius

  • hahahahahaha

  • Nothin sells like a genius acting like an idiot.

  • @just4funzees Better than Bush who was an idiot trying to act like a genius...

  • Pure genius (on Peter's part)!

  • is this the beginning of the song?

  • @thetopherhaslanded no, this is like, the end part of the song.

  • Wow!! hehehe

  • Peter's head sticking out of his body reminds me of Pokemon's diglett.

  • Crap! Now I like the song too.

  • Omg, besides his sharp, humorous lampooning of society, I think I love most how Seth MacFarlane borrows from the classics-especially the musicals! 5*!!!

  • This is so awesome. Seth MacFarland said he ripped it off from Jerry Lewis, but it doesn't matter because this is so awesome. Besides, who, in the shows key demographic, would have recognized this was originally done by Jerry Lewis?

  • @hfd172004 ....me....

  • Nice video editing to see the comparation

  • I remembered this Errand Boy scene when I saw the Family Guy version and was astounded by how well they replicated it. It was so fun to watch and it was a nice little tribute to that great film scene. :)

  • Damn. They got it exactly right on family guy.

  • I can't believe how entertaining this is to watch

  • This is a classic' Peter does a good job

  • No there weren't words in the original. Jerry Lewis is a genius and no animated character could come close to him. I used to love family guy, but Seth Macfarland cant do anything original!

  • @tuggletits it's called a tribute to a genius from a genius you idiot

  • Seth McFarlane has ruined my life. I can't watch T.V or go out in the world without seeing something that reminds me of a Family Guy episode.....Seth...you have done your job well...lol

  • OMG! i cant beleive this! i wonder if Jerry's pantomime from Cinder Fella is on here.....

  • Are there words in the original?

  • I cannot get over how absolutely amazing this is.

  • f'in genius.

  • Does the the "P" on Jerry's vest stand for "Peter?"

  • Ehm... it it's not a the song called "Blues in Hoss Flat"...

Sorry to disappoint you but thats the truth...

just type it here in youtube an you will see that it's another song..

Btw, Blues... is a great song ;D

  • @tompa588 Trust me, it is Blues in Hoss' Flat by Count Basie, First track on the Album "Chairman of the Board", but the bit heard doesn't kick in until about 1.29

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know the name of that song?

  • HEEEEEEY motherfucker!

  • And this is why I love Family Guy so much ^_^

  • Good job!!!

  • HAHA AWEsome! seen both separate, but not together like this before. sick :P

  • i'd never seen this before. jerry lewis is a genius!

  • I just rented the "Errand Boy" because of the Family Guy episode. Amazing!

  • I had to look this up because I remember this movie. Wow Family Guy nailed it! Too funny

  • OMG that's pro

  • THAT WAS AWESOME !!!!!!

  • So this is why the french think jerry was a genius! I had never seen the errand boy. Thanks FG for teaching a lesson. umm, in old bw movies? I guess.... Glayvin!

  • I was the only one of my friends who got this when we watched it, lol. BRILLIANT tribute to Jerry and this classic bit!

A truly remarkable tip of the hat to one of the many sources of McFarlane's inspiration.

  • Never thought I'd see FG beaten by Lewis of all people.

  • I wonder if they rotoscoped that or if they just kept studying that routine.

  • @jasobres I highly doubt they rotoscoped it. Clearly you have NO idea how expensive that is, not to mention how time consuming.

  • Awesome! I was just saying that I wish I could see these side by side...and viola! That didn't take long considering this just aired this past Sunday :) thanks!!!!!

  • @staceyvitale Oh dee.

  • It's almost like Family Guy copied Jerry

  • that's AWESOME

  • For those who are interested, the song is "Blues in Hoss' Flat" performed by Count Basie...

  • @quasimike Knew it had to be Basie!

  • @quasimike i downloaded 2 diffrerent tracks with that title and band, and both were different to this version :( gutted

  • Woot! What an astounding job these guys did...of course they owe everything to Jerry...but this is just remarkable. Family guy has produced some of the best musical moments since the golden age of the Hollywood musical, and this is right up there with 'em!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • Well done, great job. It's cool to see how true to the original the animators were.

  • way to match it up bravo

  • amazing! great work

  • lol niice! right on point!
