I just put a bowl of water and lemon juice in the microwave to cook for awhile and then wipe down my microwave with the hot water and some baking soda. Then I put some water, cinnamon and cloves in a bowl and cook for a few minutes at a time (repeatedly) and it gets rid of any odors.

Hello, great tip. You're on the right track but there is an even simpler "green" way to clean your microwave. Just heat a microwave safe cup of water in the microwave, heat the water until it becomes really hot and steamy, leave the cup of hot water in the microwave for at least 5 mins more so the sides of the microwave get really steamy, then wipe the sides of the microwave with a towel...the grime comes right off!!
