@jareds1007 K are a type of Zildjian cymbals. They usually have a darker sound and last very long.

Rechaves , I used tp play drums, it is actually quite simple - practice, practice and practice :) Btw well played piece of best music in the world - good feeling and articulation. Jeez like I miss my drums. The moment when I made a decision to sell my drums was the most stupid and irresponsible act in my life. Beware, and dont be so stupid as I was.

@MikePostDrums That's cool man. Have you tried playing Tool at all? I really get inspired by Danny Carey's use of the hi-hat. Especially in songs like "Sober", "Undertow", and the breakdown on "Eulogy".

@Mrcastleskeep Haha, I know the beat you're referring to in Sober. I played it today as it is partially used in Opeth's Windowpane as well. I love Tool to death, one of the best bands on this planet. Anything by Carey is ridiculously difficult to play, though. Any other suggestions? :D

excellent man! very clean and precise. i like how the bass drum is playing that 3/4 polyrythm you mention right untill the end of the bar. when i first heard this song, i thought it was an odd time signature, even though its just two bars of 4/4, because of the bass drum, it seems like a bar of 3/4 followed by one bar of 5/4.

Man, I like your drumming. Nice stick control; better than mine. I just saw your first video and then this. Big progress. But I see one big mistake you still make. Try not to hold your sticks so far back. I've been playing the drums for nearly 15 years now, and I still make this mistake. Just recently I've noticed that it makes your drumming a lot more comfortable. Much less cramps when playing heavy stuff (which you obviously like). :-) Have fun!!

Nice drumming :D. I've always thought "Onward into battle" was the cheesiest name for this song because it immediately conjours up images of something like ensiferum goblins dance (which is an awesome song, don't get me wrong) when katatonia does some really deep, dark, depressing ballads.

@TAPION724 just a regular K Custom Ride Cymbal... they have those, you do know that right? I have one and its the same as his from what i gather. Low ping, very slight wash, its a beautiful cymbal. I guess theres a possibility that hes playing a k custom medium ride?

@zinnful you're right, just a plain old K Custom Ride. Probably the best bell of any ride cymbal i've played, i love how it just cuts through.
