  • let me tell u guys a lil secret.. my dad owns a big auto motive company and when u have to use a wetsand paper makesure,u,add water so the crystals in the sand paper dont make ugly deep scrathes ... sand paper is 1000 grit or finegrit after make sure u atleast add a clear coat evenly and dont add alot in one spot ... posting a vid of my del soon hopefully u guys watch

  • @MegaJbigg Thanks for the info reply with a video when u get it done so we all can see it - Charles

  • It looks great man you did an awsome job, wet sand paper works good for that too.

  • Very good job, only thing I didnt like is the 1970 porn music!

  • 80s porn music..lol

  • what the fuck is this shit.. i think i've leaned alot more about people who drive a del sol

  • you soaked it with clear, how did it not run??

  • how about some masks and wet sanding it ?

  • I think you did a great job and it looks really good!! To the average person seeing the car from 3 feet away they would NEVER know there was even a problem.

    Great job!!

  • @matt888444 Thanks for stopping by

  • haha thats actually really good man..might be a little ghetto but i like like it and as long as u like it too thats all that counts

  • @one2mad2sk8r Thanks for the Comment

  • haha agreed

  • some ghetto ass shit

  • ok i will say spoting in is ok. atleast he didnt paint the hole damn car with a rattle can like some dumb ass people.

  • but this is just temporary or it will never peel off again?

  • @Neny0610 Temporry Perminent its been Three Years and it has not peeled off yet

Has turned a liyyle Yellow but it still better than all thatr peel off. When i can afford it

I will get a complete new paint Job and Body Work to restore it but untill then I still happy with It -- Charles

  • @crcooktube paint the whole car not to expensive maybe 400 for paint and clear rent a room and a borrow a god gun and maybe rent a room to paint its usually 100 for the room so maybe 500,

  • @crcooktube so what are the exact tools to do it... you got sandpaper but what kind???... and what kid of clear coat spray did you use???....

  • @Neny0610 At the time you could get it at walmart it was called top coat in a blue spray can and the sandpaper was 800 to 1000 - Charles

  • WERE THE HELL DID YOU FILM THING IN A DAMN JAZZ JUNGLE???? LOL

  • @kilodiamond I thing the birds were getting it on in the Tree next Door -- Charles

  • Nice voice! MMmmm.......

  • damn thats actually REALLY good

  • I did that on my black Honda. The clearcoat rustoleum paint gets all gooey in the hot sun agh!! And dust sticks to it....still looks better than it did hahahha!

  • Maybe i could hear if there was no music

  • wow, nice work.

  • what is up witht hem freaky birds????

  • Nice vid! Im about to this job on civic, the top of car and the trunk lid are peeling. I took a razon blade to get that faded clear coat off. The paing underneath appears to be good. Where can I purchase clear coat at, what brand? Wish me luck and thank you.

  • @Xcaret916 I got it at Walmart it was in the Car Section called top coat -- Charles

  • My car has quite a bit of scratches on the hood and faded paint over 10 years id say about 1/3 of my hood needs to be painted. Would the best action be to sand down the whole hood with 400 grit sand paper, wipe it down, add a primer coat or 2, then use a spray can it a few coats?

  • IF the music was gone i could watch so much longer.

  • thats....gonna look horrible

  • just a little tip. you shouldnt start spraying while youre over the "canvas" in this case the canvas is the car.. when you start spraying in the middle of the canvas youll get bloches. you should start spraying on the newspaper.. spray evenly all the way across to the other side of the newspaper and dont stop sprayin till youre off the newspaper.. this ensures a nice even coat with no blotches.

    hope this helped

  • Has anyone ever used penatral to shine up a car. Or to extend the paint.

I used it on a fiberglass red boat. Wipe on wipe off , VERY THIN COAT at begaining of season in Lake havasu AZ mid season did the same. Could do this for 3 seasons and it always shined like a cherry. When it got heavy or yelow after 3 summers I took easy off oven cleaner. Just sprayed water on and washed off penatral and oven cleaner, Very fast. Then just started all over again.

  • you should have just painted the whole door it would look more even

  • sand orange peel in work area flat with 1500 to start finishing with 2000 grit yourlooking for a uniformely dull finish with no orange peel once you have your glasssmooth dull clear surface go pickup some meguires utimate cuttin compound and a high speedhigh powr orbital buffer with the foam pad proceed to polish the whole car with the ultimate..... Your entire cars paint will look brand new thus blending into your work!!! hope you wearing a smile.... let me know how you made out!!! cheers

  • Porn music = win.

  • 600 grit wet sand and clearcoat ur door.. let it dry.. buff ur car.. thats all u have to do..

  • Is it a 10 dollar paint job or a 10 dollar car :P

  • You bought $50 in newspaper; I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. xD

  • that looks great going to have to give this a try on my accord!

  • What's with that bird?

  • se lija con un taco querido, y no se pinta al rayo del sol !!

  • Aren't you supposed to wet sand it? Thats what I did. The guy at the store told me to run the hose and wetsand it.

  • @Cdogpyjamas yea.. with 400 to 600 grit.. and the whole door too.. then u buff the whole car.. this guy is a first timer.. but he had a good idea

  • @TheIncredibleMrOz best advice to give someone is don't buy a red car. Buy a silver or white one, red paintwork fades can be trouble. I got a red car same one as this guy, although my paintwork is much better condtion

  • I am doing this with the stone chips on the bonnet of my del sol. I paid 15 dollars a can but I got the special paint match. There are a few spots on my del sol I need to touch up. Its nowhere near as bad as this..

  • nice

  • sikkk nice job man

  • dont paint on sunshinn :(

  • one you were to close two you put way to much on for your first coat.

  • was a bit of an improvement but I've got a lot to learn, lol. It would be so much easier I guess if my car wasn't white colored because now the spots I tried to fix are so much brighter than the rest of the car. Back to the drawing board for me,lol.

  • Any improvement is better than none may be if you buff out the area around with rubbing compound and wax it it might even it out -- Charles

  • Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely give that a try and I'll let you know how it turned out. Thanks charles

  • @sapher2020 try workin with black lol everything shows, even when it rains my truck gets spots all over it.

  • going to try this today on my cavalier. The clear coat is peeling like crazy on the hood and it just gets me crazy looking at it. Wish me luck, lol.

  • Good luck let us know how it turns out -- Charles

  • Having worked in an auto-parts store. this job is better than 90% of most people's touch-ups. good work.

  • i painted the exact same way.on a corolla, although I just covered the window to not get paint on it. was an approvement, easy to do,cheap, and stopped peeling. its not flawless, but better than looking at it peeling all the time.good vid, thanks for sharing. p.s.1000grit is good

  • Thanks for the comment -- Charles

  • dawg i couldnt stop rockin to that backround music, ima see dem niggas in concert next month dis shit gone be crazy. ima be huffin dat spray shit u using n b gettin fuked up!!!!@@

  • rofl i did this with my del sol too

  • you wanna sell that car

  • Hi Thanks for the Comment.... How are the Kittens? -- Charles

  • you r one cheap messing cunt

  • this a joke lol.guys dont do this at home lol.only a professionial spraycan painter can do this lol

  • relaxing music...lOl i wanna make love too my girl with this song

  • i dont think your blowup doll with like that

  • lmao nicee. but nahh u right my blowup doll wouldnt but ur mom would love 4 me too beat that pussy up with this track in the back round.

  • LMAO Birdporn!

  • LOL! x2!

  • where did u get the paint?

  • Walmart

  • lol porn music xDD what's the name of the song? lolll

  • I know it's from smart music but I need more info lol

  • what is that noise in the background, i feel like this due has a bird porn on in the background

  • thats a joke

  • you should use 40 grit sand papper for this oh it will look nice

  • looks far better then before

  • why is almost every comment critical? that's a nice job. congrats crcooktube, it looks half descent and at least you like it and that's all that maters

  • Thanks for the Comment

  • Hahaha how good is the the porno music!

  • musics gays

  • the way he is sanding is making me cringe, wow, putting your fingers straight onto the paper puts swirls and etc in it, they make sanding blocks for a reason lol

  • what can i do about paint peeling off?

  • Carry out the same treatment that guy did in the vid only this time use a primer not like he didnt which will lead to flaking, also it will cover chips in the suface.

  • well,, i don't trust spray cans, anyway you like what you did.wear a mask next time.

  • god job...but i think you make these paintjob at the wrong day..it was realy windy right?..a litle bit dangerus i think :)

  • hey man for ten bucks not bad..... i got a pretty nice cavalier i bought but the paint was chipping and rusting around the door and the bumpers and grill look like crap.... 20 bucks later it looks great!!!!... Every six months I touch it up but better then spending hundreds!!!

  • Glad some one else has the same ideals as me just keep it going as long as possible!!!!! -- Charles

  • Why not just fix it once for all?

  • Got the exact same problem on my wife's '94 Del Sol. i've got some minor rust and recontouring to clean up in the same area as well. A good warm, calm day and you can get wonders done. Like it's been said before, make sure you keep the surface clean and all oils removed before you repaint/topcoat. A good buffer will really help top it all off.

  • Good on you for having a go mate.

  • No one should attempt this, If your clear coat is peeling, don't dry sand the surface. Use a sanding block and 2000 grit sandpaper. get auto painters tape and tape all around the area that isn't damaged. once it's all smooth and even use a degreaser to remove oils, waxes, and grease. Dry the area. use a touch up clear or rattle can clear high gloss. spray one light coat at a time hold can atleast 10 inches away. using a rubbing compound and polish buff and your done.

  • not too light, or it will have dry spray, one light tack coat first, two medium coats to finish.

  • dont forget to clean off the paint after u sand it other wise it will look terrible.. im pretty sure it was kleened in this video and was cut out but just dont for get that good luck guys

  • Sweet. I have hopes on my 89 MR2. The paint is good the clear coat is badly shot. I'll tried your technique and see how it turns out. Cool video thanks for sharing with us.

  • yo DAT CAME OUT GOOD NOT BAD IMMA BOUT TO DO THAT TO MY CAR

  • Comment removed

  • thats pretty good.. the finish was actually nice.. thanks for this... this is usually useful for bumpers that are black coz its easier to paint..

ill try to apply it with my montero bumper hehe

  • it doesn't even look that bad i think it came out good

  • just because dont have money for professional paint job doesnt mean its not a paint job , its like saying poor people arent real people

  • wow.. i would have just left it. wait to get a real paint job how bout.. and only using that much masking on a windy day? yikes. plus maybe if you have better than a 1.0 megapixel camera we would be able to tell it looks like pure shit

  • Missed the point don't have trhe money for a real paint job right now did this to get but until later it only cost me 10 bucks

    -- Charles

  • hey not bad, I've seen alot worse :)

  • why are you trying to make that ugly motherfucker look good

  • what... no primer? I have also found that the better the prepping... the better the result.

This means using a fresh roll of quality brand name masking tape; and take the time to mask the most minute details. You will be glad you did. Generic brands of masking tape bleed under the tape and are not worth the savings. As much as body shops charge, you can save a bundle by doing it yourself.

  • good atemp mate if it looks better than before and your happy then thats all that counts. then you sell it 2 weeks later to someone else haha

  • ya I personally wouldnt use spraypaint on my del sol but thats just me. but ya any ways i guess it worked.

  • He did a crappy job because he had $10 of respect for the job he was doing. He even says it in the video, if I don't do a good job I'll have to paint it anyway. This is why so many people do crappy jobs. If you take the time to prep it properly before you go shooting paint you can do an awesome job cheap. Cheap out on the prep and your cheap job will look like ass. Also never lay that much paint down at once or you'll get runs of solvent pop. You shouldn't paint in the sun either, makes it worse

  • where do some of you get your information from? I hope nobody pays you to paint anything for them. Clear coats are ALWAYS nice, to heck with the you don't have to if its a so and so paint... Even single stage urethanes with the clear built in should be clear coated. unless you are going for a cheap ass maaco style paintjob that scratches off with your fingernails you should always clear. This guys technique sucks, he did a quickie job because it was cheap and thats why many DIYers do shit jobs.

  • its been a while and it still looks better than before. I'm happy and that all that counts. and by the way my paint job compares to your joke telling -- Charles --

  • You're right, it does. As my joke telling had perhaps a minute or two of thought behind it before the actual delivery. The difference is I don't have the side of a can to read to tell a joke right. What annoys me is when people post bad information and a bunch of people are like ooh Im gonna do that too. When clear coat delaminates, it's separating from the basecoat. It will keep delaminating. So you going to do it right or just keep polishing a turd?

  • The whole just of this video is 10$ to do a temporary fix untill later !!!!!! then get the whole thing repaint by a pro What the point of your 20$ wine video

  • stupid ass

  • why tape off the body of the car its a clear coat!

  • you should have used the FORWORDING button

  • were can you buy clear coat at?

  • Same thing happened to my friend Jamie's Del Slo.

  • what's with the 80's porn music?

  • the car is base coat, but he is spray solid colour. so no clear needed.

  • i'm a spray painter, it's not base coat so it won't set flat. it's a solid colour, anyway who cares.

  • good god man so many things done wrong....ahh....for starters you sand in circles not straight lines...then you most def did not mask enough cause you got overspray all over your window. i pray to god you masked your mirror. looks good though ill give ya that

  • well it looks better eh. i prob would have done the hole door but any way 80% better

  • Bad spraying technique! i think you would have been best off leaving it be tbh, every time you press the nozzle the can spits, therfore you should start spraying before you pass the area to paint and release it just after the area to be painted inestead of keep pressing it and letting it go, also the prep is very important, very botched up tbh hey.

  • you should have takent the belt moulding off and then you could have got the source of why the clear probably started peeling to begin with. (most likely painted before with the moulding left on..)

  • hey man good for you, atleast you tried it and it looks better than b4.

  • watever u think ive painted cars and ive seen alot of this you did a fairly better job you could have buffed the paint first not sand papered it.. it woud have been smoother and the paint would have shined brighter

  • u buff with compound afer the 2nd clear coat is wet sanded agian with a block.... buffing compound is a fine grade of sand... good quick fix man. that would have costed alot at body shop lol but u did it with less then 10 bucks... better then 350 in premium clear coat

  • well it does look good but does it really lools good

  • Well it looks better than it did but is it really better than it was -- Charles

  • you don't need clear. it's not metallic. haha best 10 bucks you've ever spent.

  • when its a wave color he needs a clear coat!

  • dude unless your going for a flat look you always need clear and even then its a good thing to have for paint protection

  • you should have been wet sanding and using something like a block to keep things flat. sand with just the paper and your hand will leave grooves in the paint.

  • how has it held up?

  • so I have the same type of peeling happening on my hood and fender, how far down should I sand? enough to just get the clear coat off or a little of the paint underneath also?

  • You want to get ultra fine sand paper and sand just the clear coat, dont go into the base paint layer.

  • just get clear coat and littel glaze if u go to much do 1500 wet sand !

  • i have the same 1992 blue i got whit it sins 2001 but it has 200.000 miles thos blue yukon are read becaus thers no blue yukon's any more alot of people have tell me that if i want too sell it but i dont wany to because is read and my uncle has the honda del sol do a video of the yukon

  • is that truck on the back is a blue yukon

  • Yes that my Baby 1992 Yukon GT with 107000 original miles its two tone grey with a red yukon GT Stickers From your Youtube bane I bet you know all about them -- Charles -- Sadly last year Hail storm totaled it and I bought it back for 1500$ but it not mint anymore ---

  • nice, I should have thought of that before taking mines into Maaco's cheap ass. They suck.

You got some good results on that 10 dollar job man. Props to you.

  • hm, yes poor del sols and there sun damage!

I have a little bit on mine, not enough to want to get fixed yet lol.

Its on the metal part above the windshield.

  • No I guess it the light shining on my Fat Neck!!! - Charles - Looks kind of Bad doesn't I have watch this video and never noticed that before

  • this is a good video i think i might be geting a del sol in the sumer so yeah how is yours holding up

  • Its doing well I just had to replace the coil but other than that no problems and it broke in the best place in my driveway so it did not strand me -- Charles

  • he should have taking it to tj where the park is jajaja they fixed cars like for 10dlls ajaja

  • What did you do about the masking line were you taped it off or does it show bad?? if you really wanted an knew what you were doing you could sand the whole door with a 2000 or higher paper just lightly so was smooth but it didnt burn through then wax it an it would likly take out the masking line and make it shine like it was new

  • do you know of anything that can stop fading paint? i have a 95 del sol. and it has 3 very light strips. very light. and is fadin. u can only see it in direct sunlight. still has clear coat on it. i do have a can of clear coat tho. i that would help. but any advise would be awesome

  • this is a great video...its great to see a how to once in a while...rather than just seeing someones speedometer.

  • Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. So far the paints still ok hasen't peeled off -- Charles

  • What paint was used? My del Sol has those symptoms you had on your door, ALL over the targa top. And its also Milano Red like yours.

  • It was Just Clear Top Coat from Walmart Auto Department -- The Key is if the paint Job look good when its wet then the top coat will make it look like it wet and shine. If it still looks bad when wet then it will not help..--Charles

  • Thanks for the video. It's very useful. Could you tell me the size of sandpaper you used?

  • I used wet/dry 1200 and 2000 to finish

    Thanks for stoping by

  • I would have cut some corners to save some money ..jk it looks very nice.

  • awsome ... well spent 10 Dollars

  • Thanks for stoping by time will tell on how long it will last

  • looks good for a cheap fix!!!

  • Thanks anything was better than the peeling clear coat and it even made my mirrors look better

  • Well, if nothing else you probably stopped any rust from forming there and prevented any further peeling. If you end up getting a professional to paint it - you outta get something wild on it like a sunburst finish (lighter on the front end and gradually blending into another darker color on the back). That would be kinda cool.

  • That would be nice If I get it repainted I think I will put on a body kit and spooler I've seen a lot on YouTube that really look Sharp!!!! Thanks for stoping by Charles
