@P1B1U1H1 It's just so unique...I love the concept of the film. I won't be able to see this opera the same way every again...or perhaps the world, even. It's gorgeous...but in such a unique and fascinating way...great stuff.
@SsteinwayS What all should realize is that You Tube is the best advertising medium for opera. I just bought this for my parents, who loved it. All but three of my opera DVD's were first seen on You Tube. As for worries about copyright, it would take me at least 30 minutes to download all onto a CD. Like most interested in opera, my salary is such as to make that waste of a half hour not worth the money.
@P1B1U1H1 I know! But record companies, etc. don't realize that we post because we have such a big love for the music and for the performers...and we want to share it with the world! Oh well...glad that people have seen and loved my uploads...the happier the world is, the happier I am! :)
@P1B1U1H1 I always think it's still better to buy the physical product though...the artwork, translation, liner notes, much superior audio/video quality is something special...but myself, I started really loving opera after really exploring on YouTube!
@SsteinwayS Also, there are so many other things on the DVD; if you speak two languages, viewing a third language is assisted by looking at both translations. Often, one obtains vital information about the work and the opinions of the artists about the work in bonus materials. You are doing a great service for the artists, as is everyone else who posts opera and classical music. Also, It's not as though a million people are looking at the stuff. You have less than 15,000, being quite popular.
@P1B1U1H1 Very true...though I'm glad it's not a popularity contest...though I'm glad it's as well-viewed as it is! The more people who watch and learn, the better!
Hahaha...yes, standards in school here are definitely lower! :P For music exams of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada though, a pass in 60% usually, but a pass for the performer's exam is 70%! :O
A nosegay of tones and images. Without doubt Ms. Dessay's best performance.

@SsteinwayS Every time it is watched the illusion stays with me for about an hour that the world is filled with loveliness.
