not to rain on your parade but this is the same thing that happend to out paintball in this area, people started bringin full autos and to keep up we would have to upgrade from semi auto, in the end everyone got tired of having 8 welts from 1 game when we would play 10 plus. that is why paintball had died in my area...

Recently I was in a skirmish during which I got shot -as I was walking off the field some dude began shouting "surrender" toward my teammate...who was 25-30 feet away...what a dope! So now right from the break I begin shouting "Surrender!" just for shits and giggles...XD.

Suppressive fire is great if you have teammates who know how to utilize it and gain the advantage-otherwise its just a waste of ammo.

Your first sentence basically speaks for itself. It's a game of tag, and if I don't let you come out to tag me, I have a better chance of winning. In a boxing match, you don't land a jab, then drop your guard to let your opponent hit you back to "make it fair". I'm not going to change my in-your-face style of paintball, just because it may be too aggressive for people who prefer to stand 200 feet apart in an open field and do the "Ok I shot at you, now you get to shoot me back"

Ya, the sport is supposed to be fun and welcoming to young players like the boy in the video but you don't ever see Mike shooting like that at a young kid. When I play, I play very aggressive but when I see that I am lined up against a youngster I take it easy on him and make sure not to light him up and I bet Mike does the same thing.

Vote with your valet. Don't go to big events - I know many people who specifically avoid them. Find local groups and do team-invitationals and rec-play. You can setup your own rules - like Semi-Only and limited paint (one pod rounds, etc). Watch Mike's " Reflections - Paintball Dying? " for the full response.

The only problem I have with this "got hit" video is not that Mike played on - but that he didn't seek the paint-check on his own. Veterans can make mistakes.
