well I beleive that someone who has never heard and dies at a young age will in fact go to heaven. Teaching children about God is not abuse. I'm a firm believer in God and Christ. My 4 year old and 3 year old have the choice. They have chosen, even at such a young age, to believe in God. It was never forced upon them. Before we even started talking to them about God, they would ask questions about Him and talk about Him themselves. This video does nothing but strengthen my faith in Christ.

In the Old Testament, God also killed a man for touching the Ark of the Covenant, a holy box that God said no one can ever touch. The man who touched it was trying to keep it from falling. but he still touched it, so God killed him. One day you will know the truth and you will bow down to Jesus on bended knee.
Why is taking children to church considered child abuse? I'm not a religious person. I never go to church. But I do believe in Christian values (most of them). And I think I'd like my kids to learn those. The church can help to reinforce those values outside of the home. I think it's just a matter of finding a liberal church that preaches about real life shit and doesn't try to shove the gospel down your throat. The bible is just a book full of life lessons when you take it at face value.

I call them Christian values because they show up in the Christian bible. The teachings of Christ were actually very insightful. Just because I'm not religious doesn't mean I haven't read the bible. But I also said the church can help to reinforce those values "outside" the home. It's very important for parents to teach their values to their child. But it's takes a village to raise a child, and it helps if that village shares your values.
I think you have great points. But be careful, if you take your child to church and take them to Sunday school or something, they WILL learn the Gospel good news of Jesus Christ and they will want to love and know God. And this is a wonderful thing and you are blessed if you allow this to happen, because you were instrumental in them finding eternal life in heaven instead of eternal punishment in separation from God. I pray you allow them to be exposed to a good bible-based Christian church.

No, the Bible is a tool made for political control. It is not used quite as much as it was when they first made it back in the 4th century, but you still see it exploited every now and then. They use that characteristic, whether true or not, to gain public trust and get elected so that they have power and control.

I'm more spiritual than religious. I think the afterlife would be more of something like Eywa off of Avatar: one big cosmic energy that connects everything. I think this because of DMT. It's not clear to me as how you stand or what you are convicted of on the topic of the exsistance of God, but i'll tell you that God would not condemn a child such as the one you described to hell. All children are innocent, and i mean all. They do not know right from wrong but they will soon reach the age of discernment between the two. Now you might ask "well, what age is that?" I really can't tell you. I wouldn't know, really. But to answer your question, it's no. A toddler? Of course not.

(I just can't believe a loving God could do such a thing) He actually pulled out the cathecism & read it in front of me. It basically says that while the Vatican believes that Catholicism is the true faith it does not mean that others are damned. We should respect everyone's individual journey to God .

I DO NOT speak against the Bible and Jesus. I speak against illogic. The New Testament has some of the most profound truths ever put to paper, especially the direct quotes attributed to Jesus. There are holes in ALL religious books, most definitely including the Christian Bible. There have been many good commentaries on this - Thomas Payne's Common Sense is a good start. There are flat contradictions between the Old Testament and New Testament and even within the New Testament itself.

I own a koran and see within it that it has many of the scriptures from the bible, which, is where that book came from, however, there are holes in the story - disjointed - incomplete. Grant it when those are born under a child molester, alcoholic, etc. chances are good you will repeat the same horrors. Jesus is a lover not a fighter and dealt with people like you and worse giving them opportunity to turn to Him. The choice is yours.

What if your "God" is the simply the concept of love itself? In any case, moderate Agnosticism is far more reasonable than any form of extremist Theism OR Atheism. Anyone who believes that they understand everything about the workings of the multiverse is full of shit.

There's nothing wrong with moderate Atheism, just like there's nothing wrong with moderate Theism. The problem is extremism. How can you possibly know that there was no conscious force of some sort involved in the creation of the multiverse? You DON'T know that, any more than a very stupid religious extremist "knows" that there's some magical, floating, bearded white man wearing a gown in the sky. (By the way, there aren't that many Christians who literally belive that's what God is anymore.)

I understand where you're coming from, but this really crosses the line of rationality. Not all theists are extremists, fundamentalists, or even moral absolutists. Not all religious people are even 100% convinced that there is a God! When you were making this, didn't you notice that only the pictures of the extremist Muslims and one Western kid were anything more than generic religious images (with some non-specific pictures of sad people thrown in for good measure!)?

I pointed out that the schools do this, because the parents ARE wrong. I think its a shame schools have to spend the time to "deprogram" the fundie's children. Let's talk about brainwashing for a moment. Look at the public school system. Children are taught that their parents are wrong for believing that the universe was created by a holy God. And that God has every reason to allow people to suffer eternally. But He is so loving that He chose to save us from that penalty that we all deserve. We all sin. We all do wrong. And all God asks of us is that we love Him in return, and accept His gift. It is abusive to turn your child's eyes away from our Lord.

Teaching children about God is not abuse. I'm a firm believer in God and Christ. My 4 year old and 3 year old have the choice. They have chosen, even at such a young age, to believe in God. It was never forced upon them. Before we even started talking to them about God, they would ask questions about Him and talk about Him themselves. This video does nothing but strengthen my faith in Christ.

I grew up a Christian, and I was constantly stressed and miserable. I did things that were normal for a kid, like telling little white lies and random small things like that, and all church did was make me feel horrible for being a normal kid.
I am now not only an atheist, but an anti-theist. I want to end the oppression of religion, so that no more children have to suffer like I did.

Why is taking children to church considered child abuse? I'm not a religious person. I never go to church. But I do believe in Christian values (most of them). And I think I'd like my kids to learn those. The church can help to reinforce those values outside of the home. I think it's just a matter of finding a liberal church that preaches about real life shit and doesn't try to shove the gospel down your throat. The bible is just a book full of life lessons when you take it at face value.

I call them Christian values because they show up in the Christian bible. The teachings of Christ were actually very insightful. Just because I'm not religious doesn't mean I haven't read the bible. But I also said the church can help to reinforce those values "outside" the home. It's very important for parents to teach their values to their child. But it's takes a village to raise a child, and it helps if that village shares your values.

I think you have great points. But be careful, if you take your child to church and take them to Sunday school or something, they WILL learn the Gospel good news of Jesus Christ and they will want to love and know God. And this is a wonderful thing and you are blessed if you allow this to happen, because you were instrumental in them finding eternal life in heaven instead of eternal punishment in separation from God. I pray you allow them to be exposed to a good bible-based Christian church.

I could care less about whether or not my child learns to love God. I want them to know Christian values so that they will learn to love their fellow man. Thanks for the tip though. No, the Bible is a tool made for political control. It is not used quite as much as it was when they first made it back in the 4th century, but you still see it exploited every now and then. For example, Every president has been a self-proclaimed Christian, or at least most of them have. They use that characteristic, whether true or not, to gain public trust and get elected so that they have power and control.
There's a clear example of the Bible being used for political control.
