They have dated military technology and they are very poor. Even if they nuked anyone they know that they'd get nuked 10x harder back. N.Korea isn't that stupid.

@thetrialshot China won't defend N.Korea unless the US tries to attack China, which they won't. China has no reason to help N.Korea. Look at the Korean War. N.Korea took over almost all of S.Korea and then the US helped them and took over all of Korea and China did not help. China only started to help when China was afraid of the US and S.Korea invading China. N.Korea is a dead country. China would not benefit from helping them.

@Liuyifeng19 Putting a satellite into orbit doesn't prove much anymore. The USSR put Sputnik into orbit in 1957 and the first man in space in 1961. Putting things into orbit is not related to domestic needs. The DPRK's agricultural problems come from negligence in that matter. Pyongyang must stop wasting manpower on parades. They could easily copy and manufacture their version of the Ford 8N tractor and implements. Make reliable food distribution a top priority from the farm to the stores.

In a nutshell, we coerce target nations to take on huge amounts of debt from the IMF, World Bank, etc. and put up everything of value as security. A national bankruptcy is engineered, the global banksters take it all for pennies, and the people are made debt slaves who are then exploited by U.S. corporations. @AccordGTR Suggest you let the book speak for itself. It has ample references that can be easily looked up. Given the long tradition of malfeasance by the U.S. Federal Government, and its criminal collusions with large corporations and banks, I have no reason to doubt the book.
Confessions of an EHM is a little ponderous to read in some parts but, reads much better the second time around.

If you actually took a look around, you would see that NK has been threatening the US since the Clinton days. It's just gotten more serious recently. NK has also been threatening SK which is a US ally. Of course, we can't have that. The US has promised to help SK.

NK cannot threaten anyone cuz she is surrounded. She can only defend herself by trying to acquire nuclear weapons as a deterrent and rely on China to come to her aid. The UN did not even approve further sanctions after looking at the Cheonan incident cuz there is no evidence that NK sank her.

@AccordGTR NK acquired nukes way before any of this. actually all this started because NK acquired nukes which is apparently against some deal which i cannot remember, but it pissed even NK's allies off. the UN does not approve of further sanctions because they don't believe they will work. i'm not so pro-US that i cannot be moved. i don't agree with everything the US does, like the war in Iraq. however, NK's leader is such a dick that i cannot agree with anything he does.

I read the SK investigation report and while they concluded it was a NK torpedo, there was no evidence of a sonar contact of the torpedo or sub before the sinking.
If you study torpedo attacks you will see it takes a few minutes and is highly detectable by sonar.

NK has also been threatening Japan, which is also a US ally. NK has supposedly developed long-range missiles that will be able to reach Alaska and Hawaii. The US and SK are doing those military drills near NK is response to NK torpedoing a SK ship. US, Sweden, Australia, and UK investigators agree from the evidence that NK was responsible. Perhaps you should be doing your research.
