  • was that immigrant song? lol

  • I'm surprised nobody said "wow, i don't know tony hawk played drums" i hate those people.

  • Thank you for the demo of the heads. also you look like HOTROD

  • How do u tune ur toms like this?

  • You fucking rip my man.

  • dude your cymbals look cool

    what are they?

  • dude your cymbal finishes are like, AMAZING!

  • And your playing was insane!

  • Thanks so much for putting up this vid and commenting man! I have these heads and its osu nds terribleee. But now i know i hsould tune them high and use rim shots!

  • Cybals looks like UPIF :DD:

  • ANDY SMABERG

  • @idrumforpoptarts yes! thats wat i was thinking!

  • UFIP cymbals. Don't see those very much, they sound great.

  • r these coated or just plastic-y? cuz i have blac suedes and while i love them the black stuff rubs off onto my stick and then onto my cymbals, im jw if tht will happen with these

  • damn man you got those toms sounding like marching tenors, but ill give it to you it works with your style of playing

  • do they have a black snare head available? or atleast something that would go with the rest..

  • Hey, what kind of resonant heads do you use on all of your toms? :D

BTW: Nice drumming KEEP IT UP \m/!!

  • Im looking to get new heads. I really want black heads because im sick of clear and batter and i just think black heads look badass. Im really looking for something thats low but not muddy. Ive read some reviews saying that at a lower tuning these get muddy. I play stuff from Rush to All that remains and mudvayne disturbed stuff like that mostly and i was wondering if these heads would do the trick. Any suggestions on some deep heads with good attack would be awesome

  • they dont appear in mexico yet, what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Screw mexican music market

  • what kind of set do u have, well what i mean is do u have 10, 12, 14 inch toms?, cuz thats what i have and thats what yours look like. i want to buy these heads, are they worth it?

  • i am using some evans clear g1 heads on my toms now but i don't like the bwoomp sound, and yes i have tried different tunings. your demo of the onyx heads pretty much sold me on them, they sounds great.

  • you look like tony hawk. and nice playing btw lol

  • if i had money......

  • love the sound of your cymbals? what model are they?

  • they look like ufip tiger cymbals

  • Comment removed

  • get a cymbal felt on that crash/ride to your right. otherwise it might start getting keyholes.

  • no its not if you dont have a felt its if y dont have a cymbal sleve

  • im not sure what you said but if there's metal touching metal it will start keyholeing.

  • srry man. theres this little plastic peace called a sleave that goes in bewtween the wingnut and thats what keeps it from keyholing not the felts

  • yea so then metal is touching plastic so its fine.

  • i'm in love with your cymbols

  • so...the batter AND resonant heads are both tuned high or just the batter

    ???

and is it hard to do rimshots

    ???

  • im thinking of buying the evans onyx heads, and i was wondering if, after using them, if you recommend them.

    thanks

  • it depends on your playing style, what kind of music your into/ your band plays, and what kind of sound you normally go for.

so far my impression of these drumheads is they're meant to take a serious beating, so they're great for hard hitting. think coated (white) drumhead except a little more dry and more midrange tone rather than a muffled deep sound like you'd get with a hydraulic head or muffled clear head.

i like em but they're not for everthing.

gona post a new video soon close miked

  • ok because we play a range of different styles from a nirvana to a kings of leon type style... so all in all they'll be getting worked

i feel like from what you've told me that they'd be a good fit for me, so thank you

  • i love 5:57 - 6:47

  • how u do that at 0:12 i always try to play that fast but i just cant

  • how do u make your toms sound like that

  • they're tuned high so theres very little ring, and i hit the toms using rimshots, so that the midrange of the stick hits the drum shell and the tip hits the center of the tom...Onyx heads are awesome for hard-hitting rimshots

  • Ok got a major question on your toms the onyx i just got them but they do not sound like your do you have a head on the on the bottom or just heads on the tops?

  • i have clear heads on the bottom and they're tuned the exact same to the top Onyx head. I tune them pretty high and I hit really hard and with rimshots

  • WHat cymbals u use?

  • Ufip tigers. check online for them, every couple of years or so they try to sell their inventory for discount prices. I got the 14" hat, 16" / 18" crash, 12" splash, 20" ride and 18" reverse china for around $800 a few years ago. they look really cool and sound good too! they're similar in tonality to Sabian's PRO line...sorta midrange cutting but not very warm which suits me fine. hi-hat has a bit of a modern sound to it, almost like a dirty splash cymbal when open, cuts really well.

  • Nice drumming, nice kit, and nice cymbals but it looks like you need more room.

  • Oh yeah. I will be getting these heads for my Gretsch as well. ha

  • as will i, lol

  • You are ridiculous man! Props.

  • awesome video.

    totally getting these heads

    thanks
