  • Great! I just can't wait going climbing and hiking again. Thank's, you brought me on the idea! I'll leave the city for the weekend.

  • black mtn, big eddy and beaver pond our summer favs

  • I climb this mountain at least once a summer. It has been a family tradition for generations and will be for many more.

Next summer its my goal to run up the front and down the back to my farm in Center Haverhill.

I've climbed a bunch of mountains all over the world and this is my favorite.

  • Yeah, it's one of my favorite climbs too. My brother and his family recently moved to Mountain Lakes, so I hope to make it up more often.

  • we climbed black 3 summers ago. we have property & summer in Lisbon. it's nice finding videos of hiking in the Whites on youtube. you are correct you can see VT of course, NHaverhill, center Haverhill, Mountain Lakes. it's nice to see the bridge in Swiftwater, Eddy and Beaver Pond. Artist Bluff/Bald Mtn is our favorite local quick hike. we just got back the beginning of Sept - i miss hiking! south jersey is flat. until next summer comes again -we will have to watch youtube. thanks

  • may i also say.. if you fall in to a cave you cant get back out! my great grandfather is the only person in cooktown to off gone in a cave and came back out, with a skin of a absolutely big snake about 10-15m long(dead skin)

  • guys dont worry about my comments i put them in the wrong area! oopps

  • idiots.. climbing black mountain is BAD.

there is a viscious black panther living there and a big anaconda plus black mountain is a volcano

  • Um, I think you're mistaken. This is Black Mountain in Haverhill, New Hampshire, United States. No panthers or anacondas. Bears, moose, deer and fisher cats among other things, yes.. :-)

  • And it is not nor was ever a volcano..

  • it's all paved

  • ARe any of those twisty roads paved nicley there? Would like to do some downhilling

  • Hey, we were just there this summer! I use to stay in Swiftwater as a child too and caught a trout in the Eddy. Now we live in LA but go back every summer to see my cousin and her family who just rebuilt their house on the Ammonusuc. We all tried to climb Black Mountain again but it started to rain so thanks for this.

  • Glad I could add to that. I spent a good deal of my childhood about a mile away from the bridge and used to swim at the Big Eddy frequently. They renovated the bridge about 10-15 years ago and added a concrete piling in the center and removed the large Burr arch, however it still looks pretty good.

  • Actually he was dead-on with the town names. I'm from North Haverhill and used to hike Black Mountain all the time. Now I live in Western PA and all we have is hills. I miss NH, thanks for posting!

  • No problem! My family has a house in Mountain Lakes and I spent half my childhood there. Some of my friends growing up were from there.

  • Can't tell you how thrilled I was to see your video. I spent two summers in NH when I was a kid when my dad was doing geology there. We're from Missouri. I was five years old (1966) when we were at Swiftwater near Woodsville. I jumped out of my chair when I saw the bridge again! And to see the pool where I caught my first trout! I even have a painting of the Swiftwater bridge from before the 1977 renovation in my office. Thanks, you made my day!!!

  • That was cool. I like the transition from scene to scene. This is so butch !

  • "one day, you're going to meet your match, and you will hate it. " What does that meean ?

  • Awesome!
