  • need help here!

i have dragged the ringtone from desktop into 'Tones' tab in iTunes.. synced my phone already but yet i still do not get the custom ringtone i want in the phone!

  • oh thankxx dude...!!

  • all steps are completed but cant rename .......!!i can rename but only file name is showing not type means cant change file type

  • @princemoiz2012 You may have to change folder settings to be able to this. Go to 'Folder and search options' either through the 'Tools' or 'Organize' tab. Click on the 'View' tab, then untick 'Hide file

    extensions for known file types'.

  • i cant convert any song into acc :(

  • for those of you at the step where it goes from m4a to m4r, just google "show or hide file name extensions" and that should help!

  • I did all the steps, and followed DasFish's instructions and the ring tones don't show up in my ringtone's tab

  • you need to make sure file extensions are visible. go to Start>computer> press alt a menu will appear click tools>folder options> view>uncheck hide folder extensions this is for windows 7

  • @wikistar : tnx dude ;)

  • i got all the way to trying to change the ending to .m4r it showed up in the title but it did not transfer to ringtone section. Help.. thanks

  • for anyone having problems that can't sync the newly created ringtone with your iphone, try this..

    go to your name.. Example:

    [^^] Eric's Iphone

in the tabs within your Iphone section, select 'Ringtones' tab, then sync from there. it worked for me. thanks.

  • This doesn't work! I got as far as dragging the newly created song out of itunes and into a folder but could not change the name. There song file did not end in "m4a", it just had it's normal song name. I changed it anyway and added ".m4r" to the end instead. I then tried to drag it bag to itunes, into the ringtones section and it wouldn't go. Instead it went back to the music library. So now i have 3 copies of the same song in there. I did everything you described but it didn't work?????

  • hi. im a beginner with the iphone... in the fifth step shows where need to tick the ringtones in general tab. i ticked but i did not find the "ok" button... hmmm... can you help me??? thanks

    berti

  • great tutorial, very simple to do and it works a treat. Much appreciated :)

  • @matp1985 I could not get it to show up in my itunes ringtones, any ideas?

  • @just4paws17 I had it wrong at first too. I was trying to add the first AAC file as a ringtone, but it's still the full song just cued to play from the points you pick, and an iPhone won't take a file longer than 30 seconds as a ring tone. Be sure to do the second "convert to AAC"...it took me a little bit to work this out :P I just re-did the whole process while following and pausing the video step by step and all worked out perfectly :)

    Hope this helps

I am at Stage 5 and when I try to drag the ringtone to my iTunes it just turns into a black circle with a line running through it. I found each stage really easy to follow so I don't know where I went wrong.
