As much im Conan fan and i watched and played this game for few month, this game was a big dissapointment for me. Tarantia is freakish small as capitol of biggest hyborian city.

ehm, no. It's the biggest virtual city I've ever seen, when you experience it there should be no doubt of that.

But the city still has a lot of space where you just walk. Unlike other games where the cities are tightly packed with questgivers, merchants etc. there is a lot of "room" in this city, although there are less questgiver and merchants pr. metre, there are many more questgivers and merchants still than any other virtual city I've ever seen also.

ever played other conan games? yep, aoc does a pretty good job on gfx sfx, soundtrack and atmosphere in general. for its problem it ain't perfect, but as long as it does its job with the decent feel of hyboria im alright with it.

i only wish they would concentrate on the pvp, and try to make it more player skill and less gear oriented game.

But Commons aren't a "huge" playfield, that I can agree, and it takes less than a day to complete it with moderate gameplay, but it's still a satisfying place to go.

The graphics are amazing, so if you got a few years old computer it's no wonder if its a bit heavy.

A very impressive vid but however sexy you make AoC look the game mechanics are a rehash of every other online game. I wanted AoC to rule but it is a step backwards from LOTRo for me so won't be coming back (except for the 18+ content!)

I prefer the faster paced combat to lotro, better PvP and more freedom in choice in combat in general. Every other mmorpg 'is' lotro. AoC tried to be different and succeeded enough, in enough area's for me. Lotro is an ok game I sub to it myself.

The problem with AoC was never graphics. Graphics have always been great. It was the complete lack of PvP rewards, consequences, end-game content, and everything else promised to us by funcom.

There are PvP rewards in the border kingdoms, consequences in the Murder System, End Game content which has been coming out with the last few patches and the next one. When was the last time you played?

About two month before the one-year mark. You know, when you could be wearing some of the best instance gear and be no different from someone running around naked. Back then the +5 or +10 to agility or whatever from your armor was not yet working.

Wow, I have a great armor! I'm naked! Amazing! Our characters are =?. I subscribed for the first 3 monts when aoc came out. 3 months later, subscribed for a month but still broken. 3 months later, subscribed for 1 month but still broken. Gave up.

Agility is not a stat in Aoc, i think you are referring to "Dexterity"

First of all, Stats in Aoc are much different then Wow stats, but still has the same basics.

Second of all, This is Skill-Based, do not trust your Gear stats when entering Combat, as Gear is not everything, its just Promotes gameplay.

and lastly, i would like you to be reminded of "PATCH 1.5"

Maybe maybe. I just don't trust funcom. They promised so many great things at launch and I pre-ordered the collectors edition and they delivered on none. They haven't really done anything to deem a second chance in my opinion.

And believe me! If you run around naked with a big weapon, you will surely die before someone the same lvl, but with tons of gear and the same big weapon ;)

I played this game from beta, then release for about 2 months and I couldn't handle the small population and small content, let alone the bugs. I always thought I'd come back to give it a go because the core idea of the game was awesome.

I agree, And your "Fast Food Culture" is an amazing example. Funcom Decides to work hard on things make them look beautifull and trys hard to make it as Epic as possible.

Other such games are the Fast food style, Reskinned Bosses, Different Stats same gear, ETC

The amount of Detail and lore goes into this game is amazing. Truly an Epic game.

this game is awesome now give it a go doesnt lag that bad dx10 is not necessary in my opinion only adds 20fps drop i can run it maxed wit 4x AA nicely dx9 dnt judge the game frm launch all it needs now is a bigger player base

only because of FRAPs, which hits me for 13-20 FPS depending on where in game. And this is on max setting it still looks good with half the stuff turned down, From around 20 different DX10 settings over a dozen options with each one giving or taking 2FPS on average there is plenty personalization in this area :)

No worries, for me it really hurt the FPS just being honest. I even brought the latest version which is supposed to be optimized for DX10 / vista and so on, but I think it could be better :)

I agree. I love everything about Hyboria and the art direction of the game. Sadly, I can't get myself to like the gameplay, even if I have tried. By Mitra, I have tried...

Stuff like how two tanks can't kill each other, and that mages have one-click spells while melee guys have complicated routines... stuff that annoy me.

I think 64bit and multithreading would make this game much better.

I hate all the loading screens, as do most people. If you took advantage of the high memory people have out there memory screens could be just a flash and done.

Good points mate. Memory is cheap as hell these days. Would love to see Funcom's coders break it down as best as possible to make things better still. I think they are doing a good job too so far. Guilds Wars has 10 second load screen too. As FC can't change the structure they should ease the process of it a bit better.

Yeah, I gotta agree. GW have some of the shortest loading times I've ever seen.

I remember I had a 60% death penalty, got pissed, and closed the game when the 10 sec res counter started. I instantly started the game again and was logged in, in probably less than those 10 seconds. It really is amazing how they did that ; )

SLi and Crossfire give decent gains. See the site Anandtech they use AoC as a benchmark game in nearly everything and you will see the diffence from having 1 or 2 or more GPU's. 64 bit would be nice, but you know Crysis Wars had a 64 bit update and in game experience remaind the same, I think that other things on the productivity list with AoC should be first, however, I totally agree with you. 64 bit is where it should be at, already leading edge for mmorpg graphics, add the 64 bit support FC!
